The accumulation of abdominal fat and the metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) are prevalent problems in the poultry industry, and seriously compromise broiler health and reduce economic benefits. Echinocystic acid (EA), a natural product with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, has been demonstrated to reduce abdominal fat deposition and improve intestinal inflammation in mice. However, it has not been reported in poultry research.

Herein, the interplay between ion concentration, mechanical properties, structural geometry, and aspect ratio (AR) on the sensitivity of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide/thermoplastic polyurethane (LiTFSI/TPU) ionogel is delved into. The results indicate that cones exhibit superior compressibility compared to pyramids and hemispheres, manifesting in an enhanced sensitivity toward the LiTFSI/TPU ionogel.

Within the vast library of existing compounds, the majority of work focuses on complexes in the +2 and +4 oxidation states, with comparatively few examples of Pt complexes reported without bridging ligands. Pt complexes with metal-metal bonding can be made by mild oxidation of Pt complexes having bis(phenylpyridine) ligands.

However, its inherent difficulty in self-repair after damage presents numerous formidable challenges for cartilage repair. Inspired by the unique structure of articular cartilage, a biomimetic bilayer hydrogel composed of PAM (polyacrylamide) and PAM/SA (sodium alginate) is prepared using a two-stepswelling method.

Fog collection provides a promising solution to the freshwater shortage. However, the efficiency of conventional fog collection apparatus is significantly reduced under the complex and variable natural conditions. Furthermore, fog collectors are usually plagued by intricate designs and inadequate durability, resulting in degradation of their structural and surface integrity over time.

Background: Phenotypic age acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel) is a potential aging biomarker. While weekend catch-up sleep (WCS) is commonly practiced to compensate for weekday sleep deficits, its relationship with PhenoAgeAccel remains unclear.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed data from 7 683 participants in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
Purpose: Oocyte aging is a significant factor in the negative reproductive outcomes of older women. However, the pathogenesis of oocyte aging remains unclear. This study aimed to identify the hub genes involved in oocyte aging via bioinformatics methods.

To explore the cellular phenotypic changes during this process, a stable oxidative stress model of human saphenous vein endothelial cells (HSVECs) is constructed. Through proteomics and cell experiments, it is found that the expression of BCL2L13 is upregulated during oxidative stress of HSVECs, and BCL2L13 regulated mitophagy through receptor-mediated interaction with LC3 and plays a role in cell protection.

Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was conducted involving participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) 2007-2016.
Background: Our previous studies have successfully reported the reprogramming of fibroblasts into induced mammary epithelial cells (iMECs). However, the regulatory relationships and functional roles of MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in the progression of fibroblasts achieving the cell fate of iMECs are insufficiently understood.
Methods: First, we performed pre-and post-induction miRNAs sequencing analysis by using high-throughput sequencing.
Background: Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is a benign proliferative disorder that affects the synovial joints, bursae, and tendon sheaths. To date, few studies have reported on the treatment of postoperative pain and edema in patients with PVNS. Herein, we present the case of a woman who developed pain and edema in the left lower limb 1 wk after synovectomy and arthroscopic partial meniscectomy and was unable to walk due to limited flexion and extension of the left knee.

Sensitive, specific, cost-efficient and non-invasive indicators for assessing individual CAD risk in community population screening are urgently needed.
Patients And Methods: 3112 patients with CAD and 3182 controls were recruited from three clinical centers in China, and differences in baseline and clinical characteristics were compared.
Background: This study aims to investigate the predictive value of the circulating blood cell count, including neutro-philto-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR), and thesystemic inflammation index (SII) for the development of severe oral mucositis (SOM) induced by radiation in patients undergoing radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
Methods: In this retrospective study, 142 NPC patients were screened, and based on mucositis toxicity grade, they were categorized into two groups: SOM and nonSOM. Peripheral blood cell counts were conducted prior to Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).
Background: Near infrared brain functional imaging (FNIRS) has been used for the evaluation of brain functional areas, the imaging differences of central activation of cognitive-motor dual tasks between patients with chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI) and healthy population remain unclear. This study aimed to evaluated the role of central imaging based on FNIRS technology on the plan management in patients with CLAI, to provide insights to the clinical treatment of CLAI.
Methods: CLAI patients treated in our hospital from January 1, 2021 to June 31, 2022 were selected.
Human somatic cells can be reprogrammed into neuron cell fate through regulation of a single transcription factor or application of small molecule cocktails. Here, we report that forskolin efficiently induces the conversion of human somatic cells into induced neurons (FiNs). A large population of neuron-like phenotype cells was observed as early as 24-36 h post-induction.

The present study aimed to investigate whether cryoprotectant-induced changes in the calcium concentrations of oocytes can be regulated to reduce damage to developmental potential and ultrastructure. A total of 33 mice and 1381 oocytes were used to explore the effects of intracellular calcium on the development and ultrastructures of oocytes subjected to 2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate (2-APB) inhibition or thapsigargin (TG) stimulation.

Superionic CuSe, with disordered and even liquid-like Cu ions, has been extensively studied as a high efficiency thermoelectric material. However, the relationship between lattice stability and microstructure evolution in CuSe under strain, which is crucial for its application, has seldom been explored in previous research. In this study, we investigate the impacts of hydrostatic compression strain on the microstructural evolution and, consequently, its implications for thermoelectric performance.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 43 patients who underwent pancreatectomy and preoperative pancreatic DECT and MRI between November 2018 and May 2022. The ECV was calculated using the T1 relaxation time (for MR-ECV) or absolute enhancement (for DECT-ECV) at equilibrium phase (180 s after contrast injection in our study).
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a type of non-coding RNA that play a crucial role in the development and lactation of mammary glands in mammals. A total of 107 differentially expressed circRNAs (DE circRNAs) were found, of which 52 were up-regulated and 55 were down-regulated. We also found that DE circRNA host genes were mainly involved in GO terms related to the development process of mammary epithelial cells and KEGG pathways were mostly related to mammary epithelial cells, lactation, and gland development.

By employing molecular dynamics simulations, we systematically studied the structural and mechanical properties of NR filled PNCs. The simulated results showed that the NRs gradually self-assembled into a three-dimensional (3D) network upon increasing the NR-NR interaction strength.
