Three-dimensional planning accuracy and follow-up of Le Fort I osteotomy in cleft lip/palate patients.

Objectives: Our aim was to determine the accuracy of the three-dimensional (3D) virtual planning and stability of LeFort I osteotomy in cleft lip and/or palate patients (CLP) using a validated 3D method.

Materials And Methods: Eight patients with a history of cleft lip/palate treated with LeFort I osteotomy for maxillary hypoplasia between January 2016 and April 2020 were included in this retrospective study. Three-dimensional virtual planning was performed using Proplan software then transferred to the operation theater via 3D printed occlusal wafers.

The role of muscular traction in the occurrence of skeletal relapse after advancement bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO): A systematic review.

The aim of this systematic review was (i) to determine the role of muscular traction in the occurrence of skeletal relapse after advancement BSSO and (ii) to investigate the effect of advancement BSSO on the perimandibular muscles. This systematic review reports in accordance with the recommendations proposed by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Electronic database searches were performed in the databases MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Library.

Changes in knee joint line orientation after high tibial osteotomy are the result of adaptation of the lower limb to the new alignment.

Background: Changes in knee joint line orientation (KJLO) resulting in excessive joint line obliquity are a well-known consequence of high tibial osteotomy (HTO) procedures and could lead to degenerative changes. The precise effect of the correction on final KJLO changes is poorly understood. The goal of this study was to identify radiographical parameters that could help to explain the size of KJLO changes after HTO surgery.

A pan-cancer blueprint of the heterogeneous tumor microenvironment revealed by single-cell profiling.

The stromal compartment of the tumor microenvironment consists of a heterogeneous set of tissue-resident and tumor-infiltrating cells, which are profoundly moulded by cancer cells. An outstanding question is to what extent this heterogeneity is similar between cancers affecting different organs. Here, we profile 233,591 single cells from patients with lung, colorectal, ovary and breast cancer (n = 36) and construct a pan-cancer blueprint of stromal cell heterogeneity using different single-cell RNA and protein-based technologies.

Feasibility and 3D Planning of a Novel Patient-Specific Instrumentation Technique in Medial Opening-Wedge High Tibial Osteotomy.

A novel approach for opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) with patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) was evaluated for its safety, feasibility, and accuracy. Next, the mechanical medial proximal tibial angle (mMPTA) was assessed as a potential planning angle by investigating the relation with the mechanical femorotibial angle (mFTA). Ten OWHTO cases were 3D planned using the mMPTA and operated with a customized 3D-printed wedge and cast which resembled the intended osteotomy opening.

Structural allograft impaction enables fast rehabilitation in opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy: a consecutive case series with one year follow-up.

Purpose: Painful and slow recovery are the presumed disadvantages after opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy (HTO) and play a role in favouring arthroplasty as treatment for moderate isolated medial knee arthritis. The primary study objective was to investigate the effect of press-fit structural impacted bone allograft with locking plate fixation on early ambulation, postoperative pain levels, and resumption of daily-life activities in opening-wedge HTO.

The aim of this study was to systematically review the accuracy of intraoperative computer navigation, three-dimensional surgical guides and customized osteosynthesis plates for the transfer of the virtual surgical plan to the patient in orthognathic surgery. A systematic review of the currently available publications was performed in databases MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Library, using a PICOS search strategy, and reported according to PRISMA. The initial search yielded 3050 articles.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma with the variant RNF213-, ATIC- and TPM3-ALK fusions is characterized by copy number gain of the rearranged ALK gene.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma is characterized by 2p23/ aberrations, including the classic t(2;5)(p23;q35)/ rearrangement present in ~80% of cases and several variant t(2p23/ALK) occurring in the remaining cases. The fusion partners play a key role in the constitutive activation of the chimeric protein and its subcellular localization. Using various molecular technologies, we have characterized ALK fusions in eight recently diagnosed anaplastic large cell lymphoma cases with cytoplasmic-only ALK expression.

How accurately does high tibial osteotomy correct the mechanical axis of an arthritic varus knee? A systematic review.

Background: The aim of this study was to give an overview of the accuracy of coronal limb alignment correction after high tibial osteotomy (HTO) for the arthritic varus knee by performing a systematic review of the literature.

Methods: The databases PubMed, MEDLINE and Cochrane Library were screened for relevant articles. Only prospective clinical studies with the accuracy of alignment correction by performing HTO as primary or secondary objective were included.
