This study aims to improve press equipment for safflower oil production by using a mechanism that optimizes pressure distribution within screw turns. A detailed analysis of the main components of the produced safflower oil was performed, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative assessments. A simple activation method has been used to obtain porous carbon material from walnut shells. The effect of the activation duration at 400 °C in an atmosphere with limited air access on the structural, morphological, and electrochemical properties of the porous carbon material obtained from walnut shells has been studied. Moreover, the structure and morphology of the original and activated carbon samples have been characterized by SAXS, low-temperature adsorption porosimetry, SEM, and Raman spectroscopy.

Centrifugal disk dispensers are widely used in various tasks of dosing bulk, dispersed materials. The design of the disk depends on the physical and mechanical characteristics of the dosing medium. The article presents the results of phase transition studies in which the following substances and their mixtures were tested: 100% palm oil, 100% paraffin, 100% hydrogenated palm oil, 50% palm oil + 50% paraffin, 50% hydrogenated palm oil + 50% palm oil, 33% hydrogenated palm oil + 33% palm oil + 33% soft paraffin, 20% hydrogenated palm oil + 30% palm oil + 50% soft paraffin, 50% hydrogenated palm oil + 50% palm oil + copper, and 50% hydrogenated palm oil + 50% palm oil + iron. The measurements were carried out on a station for testing phase-change materials (PCMs) designed specifically for the analysis of phase changes. Viscosity values were also determined for the tested materials, and their potential impact on heat accumulation was assessed.

The present work reports the results of a systematic study on the evolution of the morphological properties of porous carbons derived from coffee waste using a one-pot potassium-hydroxide-assisted process at temperatures in the range of 400-900 °C. Raw materials and obtained carbons were studied by TG, DTG, SEM and nitrogen adsorption porosimetry. The decomposition temperature ranges for hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin as the main component of the feedstock have been established.

The design and manufacturing technology of interference-absorbing short-wave filters based on a layered composition of Si-SiO on a sapphire substrate of various shapes was developed. A transition layer of SiO was applied to the surface of the substrate, alternating with layers of Si-SiO with an odd number of quarter-wave layers of materials with high (Si) and low refractive indices (SiO), and the application of an outer layer of SiO as an appropriate control of the materials' thickness. By using the Altair EDEM™ software, which implements the discrete element method, modelling and further study of the processes occurring in the roller press's deformation area were carried out. It was shown that the discrete element method makes it possible to accurately describe the phenomena occurring in the area of roller press deformation compared with the finite element method. Models of material compaction in a roller press are developed using calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) and copper ore concentrate.

Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is one of the most accessible additive manufacturing (AM) technologies for processing polymeric materials. The main task for a ballast bed is to transmit the sleeper pressure in a form of stress cone to the subsoil, provide proper drainage and resist the sleeper displacement.
