Feasibility of a home-designed respiratory rehabilitation program for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Background: According to international guidelines, respiratory rehabilitation (RR) for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a cornerstone of standard non-pharmacological treatment.

Aims: To evaluate feasibility of a home-designed RR program and analyze its medium-term impact on respiratory parameters and quality of life.

Methods: This was a prospective study involving 74 COPD patients enrolled in January 2019 and put on inhaled bronchodilator treatment associated with RR at home following a written protocol, for 16 weeks.

[Level of knowledge on occupational asthma and asthmagens: Assessment among healthcare workers by a validated questionnaire].

Introduction: The health system is one of the professional sectors perhaps most at risk of occupational asthma. The aims of this study were to evaluate the level of knowledge of health care workers (HCWs) on occupational asthma and asthmogenic agents and to pave the way to effective educational action on the subject.

Methods: A multicenter transversal study including 180 HCWs was carried out between July and December 2020.

A Delicate Surgical Resection to Treat a Proximal Pulmonary Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

Pulmonary adenoid cystic carcinoma (PACC) is an exceedingly rare tumor of low-grade malignancy. Diagnosis is often late, so the tumoral process may be huge at presentation. Surgical resection could be challenging, and the recurrence rate would be greater.

Background: Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is a rare anomaly of the thoracic venous system. . We present a case of a patient with isolated asymptomatic PLSVC, who was diagnosed because of dyspnea revealing an associated asthma.

Switching to a Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Center: Lessons From Ariana Hospital Experience.

After the translating of the worldwide pandemic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) disease from South East Asia to Europe, North African countries accelerate their steps to follow WHO guidelines to prepare the outbreak response. In March 2020, the Tunisian Ministry of Health switched Abderrahmen Mami Hospital to a COVID-19 center. The main objectives were management of patients but also setting-up new rules to permit enough safety for the staff members and harmony between medical, nonmedical, and administrative departments within the facility.

[Bronchiectasis associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: clinical and evolutionary profile].

Introduction: in recent years, the combination of bronchiectases (BRs) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been described as a potential new phenotype of COPD due to its clinical features and different prognosis. The purpose of this study was to analyse the clinical profile and paraclinical features of COPD in patients with BRs and to determine the impact of BRs on disease progression.

Methods: we conducted a retrospective study of 100 patients diagnosed with COPD and treated in the Department of Pneumology 4 at the Abderrahmane Mami Hospital between 2014 and 2018.

[A questionnaire assessing knowledge level concerning occupational asthma].

Introduction: Screening for occupational asthma is should still be promoted. In order to improve the efficiency of any educational intervention we need to evaluate the patient's knowledge of the disease.

Objectives: The aims were to evaluate objectively the knowledge level of Tunisian asthmatic patients concerning occupational asthma using a self-questionnaire in Arabic Tunisian dialect, then to conduct a validation process of the questionnaire.

[Pulmonary blastomycosis].

Blastomycosis is a rare fungal disease in Africa which is often due to inhalation of "Blastomyces dermatitidis". Pulmonary blastomycosis is the most common clinical manifestation which presents with a variety of clinical features, ranging from asymptomatic to rapidly fatal. We report the case of a Tunisian patient aged 35 years with no previous medical history, hospitalized with chronic cough, bilateral basithoracic pain, fever and weight loss.

Comparison of Sleep Quality before and after Chemotherapy in Locally Advanced Nonsmall Cell Lung Cancer Patients: A Prospective Study.

Background: Preservation of sleep quality is a modifiable and treatable factor, which may enhance the patient's adherence to other supportive and palliative care procedures. The outcome of sleep disturbances in lung cancer patients before and after treatment aren't reported. The aim of this study was to investigate changes in sleep quality before and after chemotherapy in locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC patients.

Paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis revealing a small cell carcinoma of the lung.

Introduction: Paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis is a rare disease, usually associated with small cell lung cancer.

Case Report: We report in this publication the cases with different age brackets, who presented with various neurological symptoms such as repetitive seizures or anterograde amnesia. Cerebral CT-scan, cerebral MRI and anti onco-neural paraneoplastic antibodies were suggesting the diagnosis of paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis.

[Case report of pulmonary biphasic tumor with unusual follow-up].

Background: Pulmonary blastoma, a rare primary lung malignancy is subdivided in 3 categories: well-differentiated fetal adenocarcinoma (WDFA), classic biphasic pulmonary blastoma (CBPB) and pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB). Classic pulmonary blastoma is composed of a mixture of immature epithelial and mesenchymal tissue resembling fetal lung tissue.

Case Report: We described a case of a 48-year-old male, cigarette smoker, who presented with left thoracic pain and hemoptysis for 2 months.
