Background: Uterine Artery Pseudoaneurysm is a rare cause of pelvic pain and haemorrhage in pregnancy. It should be considered in the differential diagnosis of pregnant women presenting with abdominal pain and is readily diagnosed by colour Doppler ultrasound. If left untreated, they may bleed into the peritoneum causing severe pain and haemorrhagic shock and may progress to maternal and fetal death.

Background: Patient selection for seizure prophylaxis after traumatic brain injury (TBI) and duration of anti-epileptic drug treatment for patients with early post-traumatic seizures (PTS), remain plagued with uncertainty. Venous sinus thrombosis secondary to traumatic brain injury and head trauma is increasingly detected following contrast enhanced cranial imaging in acute trauma. The presence of sinus thrombosis poses further challenges in the management of traumatic brain injury patients with cerebral contusions, intraparenchymal haemorrhages or subdural/extradural haemorrhages. The decision to anti-coagulate such trauma induced venous sinus thrombosis is controversial and requires further attention and research to delineate risks versus benefits of treatment.
