Purpose: There are remarkable advances in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in the last few years. Unfortunately, prolonged antiviral treatment is associated with increasing risk of drug resistance/viral breakthrough (VBT), which may lead to flare-up and rapid decompensation.
