Elaboration is a generative learning strategy wherein learners link prior knowledge and experiences with to-be-remembered information. It is positively related to an array of learning outcomes. However, most students do not independently use generative learning strategies.

To address the gap in student curricular leadership in such technological integration, previous master's and current medical students led a curricular development effort to design, create, and incorporate hands-on Anatomage learning activities into a master's level anatomy course during the 2021-2022 academic year. To assess changing perspectives regarding the table's role in curriculum integration and content retention, surveys were conducted before and after voluntary participants completed the learning activities.

The present evidence map aims to provide an overview of different non-athletic cohorts addressed in WB-EMS research. Based on a comprehensive systematic search according to PRISMA, eighty-six eligible longitudinal trials were identified that correspond with our eligibility criteria.

Under such stress conditions, some mosses generate stress-resistant stem cells, also called brood cells or brachycytes, that do not exist under normal conditions. However, the cell physiological basis of the growth inhibition and the stem cell formation is not well understood.

Pharmacists are well-positioned to reduce polypharmacy and potentially inappropriate medications. The objective of this narrative review was to summarize the results from randomized-controlled trials that evaluated pharmacist-led interventions with the goal or effect to deprescribe medications in older individuals.

Two wastewaters with high NH-N concentrations and a rising significance in Germany-pig slurry (12 samples) and condensates from sewage sludge drying (6 samples)-were studied for their deammonification potential. Furthermore, a comprehensive quality assessment is presented.

This study aimed to examine changes in personal, work-related, and overall stress, as well as biological responses and fatigue experienced by nurses during three consecutive 12 h workdays (i.e.

Purpose: Ultrasound (US) is considered a first-line study for painless jaundice. However, in our hospital system, patients with new-onset painless jaundice often have a contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) or magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) regardless of the sonographic findings. Thus, we investigated the accuracy of US for detection of biliary dilatation in patients with new-onset painless jaundice.

We examined the relationship between age, coping, and burnout during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic with nurses in Texas (N = 376). Nurses were recruited through a professional association and snowball sampling methodology for the cross-sectional survey study. Framed in lifespan development theories, we expected that nurse age and experience would be positively correlated with positive coping strategies (e.

Publications describing genes expressed in nephrogenic precursor cells, ureteric bud cells, more mature nephrogenic epithelial cells and interstitial cell types were used. These studies uncovered that the WT1 mutant Wilms tumor cells lines express genes from the earliest nephrogenic progenitor cells, as well as from more differentiated nephron cells with the highest expression from the stromal/interstitial compartment.

Background: A key component of teamwork is communication. Automated measures of objective communication patterns are becoming more feasible and offer the ability to measure and monitor communication in a scalable, consistent and continuous manner.
Background: Prior studies of older cancer patients undergoing large operations have reported similar rates of complications to the general population but higher rates of mortality, suggesting higher rates of failure-to-rescue (FTR) with advanced age. Whether age is a marker for frailty, or an independent predictor of FTR, is not clear.
Methods: The ACS-NSQIP database was queried from 2015-19 for patients undergoing surgery for gastrointestinal (GI) malignancy.
A disintegrin and metalloproteinase (ADAM) family proteins, acting as sheddases, are important factors in a number of pathologies, including cancer, and have been suggested as promising therapeutic targets. The study presented focuses on the involvement of ADAM10 and ADAM17 in retinoblastoma (RB), the most common malignant intraocular childhood tumor. A significant correlation between ADAM17 expression levels and RB laterality and RB staging was observed.

This study assessed whether neoadjuvant radiation increases the incidence of POPC in patients undergoing esophagectomy for malignancy.
Methods: The American College of Surgeons-National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database files from 2016 to 2018 were queried for patients undergoing esophagectomy for malignancy.
Based on a one-year pilot plant operation of a two-step biofilm nitritation-anammox pilot plant, NO mitigation strategies were identified by applying a newly developed biofilm modeling approach. Due to adapted plant operation, the NO emission could be diminished by 75% (8.8% → 2.

The aim of this analysis was to investigate the association of MS with mortality, serious morbidity, and pancreatectomy-specific outcomes in patients undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy (PD).
Methods: Patients with MS who underwent PD were selected from the 2014-2018 ACS-NSQIP pancreatectomy-specific database.
The use of propensity score methods in the surgical literature is increasing. Randomized, controlled clinical trials are the gold standard of medical research, allowing for accurate measurement and analysis of treatment effects. Use of propensity score methods allows researchers to mimic randomization when true randomization may not be possible.

The campaign began in the United States in 2012 and in Canada in 2014, and now many countries around the world are adapting the campaign and implementing it. Currently, approximately 80 societies in the United States have published CW recommendations.

Clinically meaningful and psychometrically sound measures of sexual function validated in people with MS are necessary to identify people with MS who experience problems with sexual function.
Aim: To evaluate the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) Sexual Function and Satisfaction (SexFS) v2.
Objective: To examine the effect of family and perceived organizational support on the relationship between nurse adaptability and their experience with COVID-related PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) symptoms in frontline nurses working on COVID-19 units.
Background: Proximity to and survival of life-threatening events contribute to a diagnosis of PTSD, which is characterized by avoidance of reminders of trauma, intrusive thoughts, flashbacks of events, sleep disturbances, and hypervigilance. Using the job-demands and resource model, we examined the effect of adaptability, family support, and perceived organizational support on PTSD symptoms for nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
