In this study, zein/apple pectin/tea polyphenol layer-by-layer assembled cling film prepared by solution casting was characterized, and the preservation effect of composite coatings, double, triple, and quadruple multilayer layer-by-layer assembly coatings on fresh walnut kernels at 4 °C was evaluated. As the number of assembly layers increased, the water vapor barrier increased, and the lower the film's UV transmittance. The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a biological process whereby epithelial cells are transformed into cells with a mesenchymal phenotype. The transcription factor, X-box binding protein 1 splicing variant (XBP1s) is a key regulator of the endoplasmic reticulum stress response (ERS); but the function of XBP1s in the endometritis-induced EMT process remains unclear. Here we found that uterine tissues from goats with endometritis exhibited an EMT phenotype, with a significant decrease in the epithelial cell polarity marker E-cadherin and a significant increase in the mesenchymal markers N-cadherin and vimentin.

Irinotecan (CPT11) chemotherapy-induced diarrhea affects a substantial cancer population due to -glucuronidase (Gus) converting 10--glucuronyl-7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin (SN38G) to toxic 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin (SN38). Existing interventions primarily address inflammation and Gus enzyme inhibition, neglecting epithelial repair and Gus-expressing bacteria. Herein, we discovered that dehydrodiisoeugenol (DDIE), isolated from nutmeg, alleviates CPT11-induced intestinal mucositis alongside a synergistic antitumor effect with CPT11 by improving weight loss, colon shortening, epithelial barrier dysfunction, goblet cells and intestinal stem cells (ISCs) loss, and wound-healing.

Although the fatigue properties of asphalt materials have been extensively studied, the relationship between the rheological properties and road performance of asphalt mixtures remains underexplored. In this study, we have examined the relaxation properties of asphalt binders through relaxation tests conducted on asphalt and its mastic under different conditions. A repeated stress relaxation-recovery test is designed for assessing both the relaxation and elastic properties, and a set of reasonable test parameters is recommended, thereby establishing a novel test method for measuring the relaxation and elastic behaviors of asphalt.
