Monogenean parasites pose a significant challenge to aquaculture, leading to adverse effects on fish health and yields. Current anthelmintic treatments for monogeneans have demonstrated limited efficacy and are further complicated by potential issues, which emphasize the necessity for effective and safe therapeutic strategies to manage monogeneans in aquaculture. In this study, in vivo and in vitro anthelmintic activity of febantel against Gyrodactylus kobayashii on goldfish (Carassius auratus), as well as its toxicity to goldfish were evaluated.

Enrofloxacin (EF) is a broad-spectrum and highly efficient antibiotic commonly used for treating diseases in aquatic animals. However, its abuse in aquaculture applications often leads to excess residue in tissues of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella). Hence, this study aimed to estimate the withdrawal time (WT) of EF and its metabolite of ciprofloxacin (CF) administered medicated feed in natural culture environments and conduct a risk assessment.

Background: Exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth regulators may protect the heart from ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Homeobox-containing 1 (Hmbox1), a homeobox family member, has been identified as a putative transcriptional repressor and is downregulated in the exercised heart. However, its roles in exercise-induced physiological cardiac growth and its potential protective effects against cardiac I/R injury remain largely unexplored.

Stars form in galaxies, from gas that has been accreted from the intergalactic medium. Simulations have shown that recycling of gas-the reaccretion of gas that was previously ejected from a galaxy-could sustain star formation in the early Universe. We observe the gas surrounding a massive galaxy at redshift 2.

Doxycycline is an important medicine in aquaculture for treating fish diseases. However, its excess use causes residue exceeding to threaten human health. So, this study aimed to estimate a reliable withdrawal time (WT) of doxycycline (DC) in crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) based on statistical approaches and conduct a risk assessment for human health in the natural environment.

The objective of this study was to examine the pharmacokinetic (PK) properties of enrofloxacin (EF) and its metabolite, ciprofloxacin (CF), in yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) after a single oral dose of EF at 20 mg/kg at 20, 25, and 30 °C. Samples were collected at pre-designed time points and determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with a fluorescent detector. Results showed that most concentrations of EF and CF in plasma and tissues at the same time point at different temperatures were statistically significant.

A plasma and tissue kinetic study of sulfadiazine (SDZ) and its metabolite, N -acetyl sulfadiazine (ACT-SDZ), was characterized in channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) following a single oral dose of 50 mg/kg at 18 and 24°C. Samples were collected at predetermined time points and determined by ultra-performance liquid chromatography. The classical one-compartmental method was used to estimate the pharmacokinetic parameters.

Congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia (CAMT) is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by severe thrombocytopenia that presents soon after birth and is usually not accompanied by specific somatic malformations [Germeshausen M, Ballmaier M. Best Pract Res Clin Haematol 2021; 34: 101286]. CAMT is more prevalent in females than males [Ballmaier M, Germeshausen M.

Endogenous retroviruses (ERVs) have been reported to participate in pre-implantation development of mammalian embryos. In early human embryogenesis, different ERV sub-families are activated in a highly stage-specific manner. How the specificity of ERV activation is achieved remains largely unknown.

In this study, the plasma pharmacokinetics and tissue disposition of sulfadiazine (SDZ) and its main metabolite, N-acetyl sulfadiazine (ACT-SDZ), were compared between 18 and 24 °C following a single oral administration of SDZ at 50 mg/kg in grass carp (). The plasma and tissues were sampled from 0.167 h up to 96 h and analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography with an ultraviolet detector.

Limited information on residue depletion of doxycycline (DC) is available in yellow catfish () using the determination of LC-MS/MS based upon a rapid and simple method of sample preparation. This study collected plasma and tissue samples of yellow catfish at pre-determined time points following 3-day consecutive oral administration of DC at 20 mg/kg. The samples were prepared using a QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) approach.

This study aimed to determine the bioavailability and pharmacokinetic parameters of sulfadiazine (SDZ) in channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) following oral gavage and intravenous injection. The healthy channel catfish were orally and intravenously administrated with SDZ solution at doses of 50 and 5 mg/kg, respectively. Plasma samples were determined by ultra-performance liquid chromatography with an ultraviolet detector.

As a widely used synthetic pyrethroid insecticide, deltamethrin (DM) causes serious health problems to aquatic organisms. However, the comprehensive understanding of the adverse effect of DM on aquatic organisms has received limited attention. In this study, goldfish (Carassius auratus) were exposed to 0 (control group), 0.

Chromosomal abnormalities play an important role in classification and prognostication of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients. However, more than 50% of low-risk MDS patients harbor a normal karyotype. Recently, multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) has emerged as an effective and robust method for the detection of cytogenetic aberrations in MDS patients.

Carvacryl acetate (CA) is a semisynthetic monoterpenic ester obtained from essential oils, and it exerts an antioxidation effect. The purpose of our study was to investigate whether CA could provide neuroprotection against oxidative stress caused by cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) and elucidate the underlying mechanism. Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-induced damage was established in Sprague Dawley (SD) rats and PC12 cells were exposed to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to imitate oxidative stress damage.
