Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of aspirin on bleeding during arteriovenous fistula (AVF) placement surgery in end-stage renal disease patients, particularly addressing whether discontinuing aspirin is necessary before the surgery.
  • The research involved 60 patients, split evenly between those who took 80 mg of aspirin daily and those who did not, with outcomes focusing on blood loss and AVF success.
  • Results showed no significant differences in bleeding, operation duration, or AVF outcomes between the two groups, suggesting that patients can continue aspirin use without adverse effects during the surgery, while further research is encouraged.

Because of the large diameter of the aneurysms and their proximity to each other, a combination of endovascular and hybrid repair was used for management.
