Purpose: Laparoscopic myomectomy is one of the preferred surgical treatments for symptomatic uterine fibroids. This study aimed to compare the effects of laparoscopic myomectomy with temporary uterine artery occlusion (TUAO), permanent uterine artery occlusion (PUAO), and vasopressin injection (VPI) on ovarian reserve in women with symptomatic uterine leiomyomas.
Methods: This randomized clinical trial (RCT) study was conducted on women with symptomatic uterine fibroids referred to Shahid Beheshti and Al-Zahra Hospitals in Isfahan, Iran, from January 2024 to July 2024.
Background: Recurrent spontaneous abortion has high incidence rate. The etiology is unknown in 30-40%. However high uterine artery resistance is accounted as one of the recurrent abortion reasons.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAim: Tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) overdose is generally associated with central nervous system (CNS) and cardiovascular toxicity manifested by seizure, electrocardiographic (ECG) abnormalities and arrhythmia. The objective of this study was to determine whether TCA toxicity would be reduced in patient where benzodiazepine (BDZ) was co-ingested with TCA.
Design: Patients who were diagnosed to be poisoned by ingestion of both a tricyclic antidepressant and benzodiazepine (TCA-BDZ), and patients intoxicated solely by a TCA were assessed, provided that they had one or more clinical signs of toxicity (anticholinergic, cardiovascular or CNS findings) and no underlying cardiac disease.
