Cellulose is an abundant natural biopolymer on earth, found as a major constituent of plant cell wall in lignocellulosic form. Unlike other compounds cellulose is not easily soluble in water hence enzymatic conversion of cellulose has become a key technology for biodegradation of lignocellulosic materials. Microorganisms such as aerobic bacteria, fungi, yeast and actinomycetes produce cellulase that degrade cellulose by hydrolysing the β-1, 4-glycosidic linkages of cellulose.

This Letter reports new results on muon neutrino disappearance from NOvA, using a 14 kton detector equivalent exposure of 6.05×10^{20} protons on target from the NuMI beam at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The complete mitogenome of is described using Ion Torrent (PGM sequencer), which showed it was 16,489 bp in size comprising 13 mRNAs, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNA genes, and 858 bp as D-Loop control region, along with gene order and organization, being similar to most of the other related Siluriformes fish mitogenome of NCBI databases. The 20 RNAs were packed into a typical cloverleaf structure. The mitogenome in the present study has 99% similarity to the complete mitogenome sequence of mitogenome reported earlier and also would be helpful in understanding the population genetics, phylogenetics, and evolution of catfishes.

Occurrence of pulmonary tuberculosis with leprosy is known but association of cutaneous tuberculosis with leprosy is rare. We report a case of borderline lepromatous leprosy coexistent with tuberculosis verrucosa cutis in a 29-year-old male, who presented with multiple skin coloured nodules and hyperkeratotic scaly lesions of 3-month duration. Dual infections are associated with high mortality and morbidity.

Thin carbon-backed isotopically enriched Pb targets were required for our experiment aimed to study the reaction dynamics for Ti + Pb system, populating the near super-heavy nucleus Rf, through mass-energy correlation of the fission fragments. Purity and thickness of the targets are of utmost importance in such studies as these factors have strong influence on the measurement accuracy of mass and energy distribution of fission fragments. Pb targets with thickness ranging from 60 μg/cm to 250 μg/cm have been fabricated in high vacuum environment using physical vapor deposition method.
