Anomalous Left Circumflex Artery Arising From the Right Coronary Artery: A Cadaveric Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Coronary artery anomalies are relatively rare in the general population; however, they remain clinically significant due to their varying effects on cardiovascular function and diagnostic and treatment outcomes. Here is described an anomalous left circumflex artery (ALCx) discovered during routine dissection of a 76-year-old female anatomical donor. The ALCx was seen arising from shared ostia with the right coronary artery and conus artery from the right aortic sinus of Valsalva, giving off the left atrial branch along its retroaortic course before reaching the left aspect of the coronary sulcus.

Human brain lipidomics have elucidated structural lipids and lipid signal transduction pathways in neurologic diseases. Such studies have traditionally sourced tissue exclusively from brain bank biorepositories, however, limited inventories signal that these facilities may not be able to keep pace with this growing research domain. Formalin fixed, whole body donors willed to academic institutions offer a potential supplemental tissue source, the lipid profiles of which have yet to be described.

Sphingolipids constitute a complex class of bioactive lipids with diverse structural and functional roles in neural tissue. Lipidomic techniques continue to provide evidence for their association in neurological diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and Lewy body disease (LBD). However, prior studies have primarily focused on biological tissues outside of the basal ganglia, despite the known relevancy of this brain region in motor and cognitive dysfunction associated with PD and LBD.

Explainable models for forecasting the emergence of political instability.

Building on previous research on the use of macroeconomic factors for conflict prediction and using data on political instability provided by the Political Instability Task Force, this article proposes two minimal forecasting models of political instability optimised to have the greatest possible predictive power for one-year and two-year event horizons, while still making predictions that are fully explainable. Background: Primary synovial chondromatosis (PSC) is a rare idiopathic pathology characterised by the formation of osseocartilaginous nodules within synovial joints, tendons, or bursae. The mineralisation pattern of PSC nodules is poorly understood and has yet to be investigated using elemental analysis. Mapping this pattern could elucidate the progression of the disease.

Carbide clusterfullerene DyYTiC@C80-Ih with three different metal atoms in the endohedral cluster is obtained by arc-discharge synthesis with methane as reactive gas and is successfully isolated by HPLC. The compound shows single-molecule magnetism (SMM) with magnetic hysteresis below 8 K. The SMM properties of DyYTiC@C80 are compared to those of DySc2N@C80 and the influence of the central atom in the endohedral cluster is analyzed.
