Rubbers prepared from technical poly(butadiene) and natural poly(isoprene) are studied by field-cycling (FC) H NMR relaxometry to elucidate the changes of the relaxation spectrum. Starting with the non-cross-linked polymer successively cross-links are introduced via sulfur or peroxide vulcanization. Applying an advanced home-built relaxometer allows one to probe entanglement dynamics in addition to Rouse dynamics.

Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist, has shown promise for weight reduction in obese adults. This study aims to evaluate semaglutide's impact on weight loss, functional status, and clinical outcomes in obese patients with heart failure.

However, research on the relationship between these symptoms and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), a key biomarker for HF severity and treatment, is scarce and yields inconsistent results.
Aims: This study investigates the relationship among depressive symptomatology, NT-proBNP and health status in a cohort of patients with HF.
Background: The edge-to-edge transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TTVR) has emerged as a promising technique for the treatment of tricuspid regurgitation (TR). Despite its potential, comparative data on the performance of the novel edge-to-edge devices-MitraClip, PASCAL, and TriClip-remain controversial. In this study, we aim to evaluate the safety and efficacy of these devices in treating TR.

We aimed to compare the effects of early integration of palliative care (EIPC) and standard cardiac care on health status and mood of patients with non-terminal heart failure.
Methods: EPCHF was a multicentre, parallel, two-arm, open-label, randomised controlled trial carried out at University Hospital Bonn and University Hospital Düsseldorf in Germany.
The manufacturing method of string cheese is similar to mozzarella, but the hot curd is extruded through narrow tubes or pipes, which align the protein fibers that provide the characteristic ability for consumers to pull strings from this cheese. Firmness is another important performance attribute for consumers who just bite into the string cheese without peeling off strings. There have only been a few studies on string cheese, but it is known that stringiness and firmness decrease during prolonged storage, which is a particular challenge for exporting string cheese.

We show that master curve construction encompassing both α-peak and emerging excess wing works for depolarized light scattering (DLS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxometry. It reveals the self-part of the slow dynamics' spectrum.

We performed an experiment comparing the effects of egoistic and altruistic messages on COVID-19 vaccine intentions and behaviour. We administered different messages at random in a survey of 6379 adults in December 2020, following up with participants in the nationally representative survey Citizens' Attitudes Under COVID-19 Project covering nine high-income countries (Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, the UK and the USA).

Arterial compliance of the common carotid artery was assessed by ultrasound speckle-tracking before and after TAVR. For sub-analysis the study cohort was divided according to aortic valve area <.

Patients often present with aggressive, painless growth which is well demarcated from surrounding bone resulting in severe facial asymmetry. JOFs have high recurrence rates if not completely resected and should therefore be treated by a multidisciplinary team of physicians including a neurosurgeon to assess cranial nerve function.

Background: Data on feasibility of TAVI and mortality prediction in the LFLG-AS population are scarce. Clinical risk assessment in this particular population is difficult, and a score has not yet been established for this purpose.
Introduction: Tamoxifen is a common treatment for estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer. While tamoxifen treatment is generally accepted as safe, there are concerns about adverse effects on cognition.
Methods: We used a mouse model of chronic tamoxifen exposure to examine the effects of tamoxifen on the brain.

The aim of this study was to assess the transformation of organic matter in organic soils undergoing a phase of secondary transformation, based on a new method of nitrogen compound fractionation. Laboratory tests were carried out for 31 layers of muck (after secondary transformation) and peat (parent material of the soil) of drained organic soils (peat). The new method consists of sequential extraction in the following steps: (1) 0.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcid sulfate soils are sulfide-rich soils that pose a notable environmental risk as their strong acidity and low pH mobilizes metals from soil minerals leading to both acidification and metal contamination of the surrounding environment. In this study a rapid and cost-efficient approach was developed to resolve the main distribution patterns and geochemical features of acid sulfate soils throughout coastal plains stretching for some 2000 km in eastern, southern, and western Sweden. Of the investigated 126 field sites, 47 % had acid sulfate soils including 33 % active, 12 % potential, and 2 % pseudo acid sulfate soils.

A 26-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes mellitus and discontinued intensive conventional insulin therapy was admitted to the authors' hospital with acute upper abdominal pain. Severe hypertriglyceridemia and acute pancreatitis were diagnosed. Treatment included insulin administration and plasmapheresis.

Although it still makes numerous simplifying assumptions, it appears to capture a wide range of empirical observations. It could, therefore, in principle, also be used as a tool in beekeeper education, as it allows the implementation and comparison of different management options.

Background: Little is known about the incidence and clinical relevance of postprocedural acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients undergoing transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) for tricuspid regurgitation (TR).
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic impact of postprocedural AKI following TEER for TR.
Methods: Two hundred sixty-eight patients who underwent TEER for TR at 2 centers were retrospectively analyzed.
Purpose: To investigate (1) the bias in effect estimation due to heaping or digit preference, (2) the association between age at hypertension diagnosis and risk of cardiovascular comorbidities, and (3) the influence of heaping on risk estimates.
Methods: We performed a simulation study with various scenarios, binary outcome, and normal or lognormal distributed covariables. We calculated mean logistic coefficients under the original and heaped data and their relative deviation.
Background: The diagnostic importance of three-dimensional (3D) speckle-tracking strain-imaging echocardiography in patients with acute myocarditis remains unclear. The aim of this study was to test the diagnostic performance of 3D-speckle-tracking echocardiography compared to CMR (cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging) for the diagnosis of acute myocarditis.
Methods And Results: 45 patients with clinically suspected myocarditis were enrolled in our study (29% female, mean age: 43.
