Introduction: The majority of patients with mycosis fungoides (MF) have an indolent disease course, but a substantial fraction (20-30%) of patients progress to advanced stages - usually with a grave prognosis. Early differentiation between indolent and aggressive types of MF is important for the choice of treatment regimen and monitoring of the individual patient. Good biomarkers are therefore desired.

Introduction: Patients with lumbar spinal stenosis may have poor balance, decreased physical function and problems maintaining physical activity levels due to radiculopathy. Decompressive surgery is often indicated if conservative management fails to achieve a satisfactory clinical outcome. While surgical management has proven effective at treating radiculopathy, and patients report increased physical function postoperatively, objective measures of postural control and physical activity remain sparse.

This randomised controlled trial aimed to investigate the effect of high-intensity resistance training on quality of life in patients with myositis. Thirty-two patients with established, stable myositis were randomised to 16 weeks of high-intensity resistance training (intervention group) or 16 weeks of usual care (control group).

Quantitative data on the myofibre morphology in sIBM remains scarce. Further, no previous study has examined fibre type association of satellite cells (SC), myonuclei number, macrophages, capillaries, and myonuclear domain (MD) in sIBM patients.

The overall survival of patients with ALL has improved with implementation of high intensity pediatric-inspired treatment protocols. However, this treatment comes with a risk of long-term complications, which could affect the ability to work.

Here, we report that S aureus and staphylococcal enterotoxins (SE) induce drug resistance in malignant T cells against therapeutics commonly used in CTCL. Supernatant from patient-derived, SE-producing S aureus and recombinant SE significantly inhibit cell death induced by histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor romidepsin in primary malignant T cells from patients with SS.

However, the long-term use of systemic glucocorticoids causes severe adverse side effects. This study was aimed at investigating whether the early initiation of corticosteroid-sparing therapy (CST) in BP patients results in better outcomes than late or no CST.

PNP/PAMS is typically associated with lymphoproliferative or haematological malignancies, and less frequently with solid malignancies. The mortality rate of PNP/PAMS is elevated owing to the increased risk of severe infections and disease-associated complications, such as bronchiolitis obliterans.

Additional immunomodulatory therapies such as methotrexate, azathioprine and mycophenolatmofetil should be added early during treatment to minimize the adverse effects of chronic corticosteroid therapy and to augment improvement in the disease. Rituximab is a first-line immunomodulatory treatment for moderate to severe pemphigus disease.

Skin lesions cause serious symptoms that hamper quality of life and are entry sites for bacterial infection, a major cause of morbidity and mortality in advanced diseases. The mechanism driving the pathological processes that compromise the skin barrier remains unknown.

Low-load blood-flow restricted (BFR) training has been shown to evoke gains in myofibre cross sectional area (mCSA) in healthy adults. This could partially be due to the activation and integration of muscle satellite cells (SC) resulting in myonuclei addition.

COVID-19 has been associated with acral ischemia and digital necrosis. Standard treatment of acral ischemia and digital or acral necrosis includes ongoing therapy with vasodilators and anticoagulants. However, these treatments are not always efficient to avoid the progression of necroses, which in the worst case can lead to amputation.

In recent decades, newer biologics such as interleukin inhibitors have been used to treat PG; however, the literature is scarce, consisting predominantly of case reports and caseseries. The aim of our review was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of interleukin inhibitors for the treatment of PG in adults.

Physicians in many different specialities can meet patients with bullous skin diseases, which include a wide range of skin diseases from mild cases to very severe and life-threating diseases. The aim of this review is to provide systematically approach of how make the accurate diagnosis, using important and basic elements of history taking, clinical and paraclinical examination.

The objective was to evaluate if serum and Respiratory Gene Technology (RGT), a commercial kit to produce autologous conditioned serum, was effective in reducing bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) neutrophils and mast cells in racehorses with cytological evidence of mild equine asthma . Thirty-six Standardbred trotters in active training were enrolled in this randomized clinical trial; a healthy control group (n=11), a RGT group (n=12) and a serum group (n=13).

Objectives: To investigate the mortality, prevalence and risk of comorbidities in patients with PG.
Methods: This nationwide registry nested case-control study included all inpatients and outpatients diagnosed with PG in tertiary dermatology centres in Denmark between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 2016.
Pyoderma gangrenosum is an uncommon ulcerative neutrophilic dermatosis. Clinical presentation, location and associated diseases are diverse. Treatment of pyoderma gangrenosum includes treating the underlying comorbidity supplemented with topical and/or systemic agents.

Background: Pemphigus encompasses a group of life-threatening autoimmune bullous diseases characterized by blisters and erosions of the mucous membranes and skin. Before the era of immunosuppressive treatment, pemphigus was almost always fatal. Due to its rarity, only few randomized controlled therapeutic trials are available.

However, only few and conflicting results exist on the magnitude and timing of microvascular adaptations, overall indicating a lack of angiogenesis with BFR training. The present study, therefore, aimed to examine the effect of short-term high-frequency BFR training on human skeletal muscle vascularization.

Only limited knowledge exists about the effects of low-load blood flow restriction exercise in sIBM patients, and its effect on the immunological responses at the myocellular level remains unknown. The present study is the first to investigate the longitudinal effects of low-load blood flow restriction exercise on innate and adaptive immune markers in skeletal muscle from sIBM patients.

Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune skin disorder with development of blisters in the skin and mucosa, and it can be a life-threatening disease if not treated. Corticosteroids have been a cornerstone for treating PV, but because of side effects the treatment is combined with other conventional immune modulating drugs and rituximab. The Danish treatment protocol for pemphigus vulgaris is similar to the other Scandinavian countries, and therefore this study is of importance for clinicians in the Scandinavian countries as well as other European countries.
