Survival/Success of Dental Implants with Acid-Etched Surfaces: A Retrospective Evaluation After 8 to 10 Years.

The aim of this study was to conduct a retrospective evaluation of the survival and success rates of dental implants with acid-etched surfaces after 8-10 years of function. Forty-four patients who received 183 implants 8-10 years ago were evaluated. Clinical examinations were performed around the implants and natural teeth.

Self-ligating versus conventional metallic brackets on retention: A systematic review.

Objective: The present study aimed to review the literature systematically and assess comparatively whether self-ligating metallic brackets accumulate less biofilm than conventional metallic brackets.

Material And Methods: The systematic search was performed following PRISMA guidelines and registration in PROSPERO. Seven electronic databases (Google Scholar, LILACS, Open Grey, PubMed, SciELO, ScienceDirect, and Scopus) were consulted until April 2016, with no restriction of language and time of publication.

This research was performed according to the PRISMA statement. Articles were searched in eight electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, LILACS, SciELO, Google Scholar, and Open Grey).

Wound healing of dehiscence defects following different root conditioning modalities: an experimental study in dogs.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the periodontal healing pattern of dehiscence-type defects following different chemical root conditioning modalities.

Materials And Methods: Buccal osseous dehiscence defects were created on six teeth of seven dogs. After dental plaque accumulation, defects were treated with sterile saline solution (control group) or one chemical conditioning modality: citric acid (CA group), ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA group), tetracycline (TTC group), citric acid + tetracycline (CA + TTC group), or tetracycline + citric acid (TTC + CA group).

Interleukin-1β and interleukin-6 expression and gene polymorphisms in subjects with peri-implant disease.

Background: Polymorphisms found in the IL-1 family genes have been associated with susceptibility of periodontal disease. However, very little is known about the relationship between polymorphisms on inflammatory mediators' genes and peri-implant disease.
