[Avastin treatment in intraocular tumors].

Bevacizumab is used in the treatment of cancer where it inhibits tumor growth by blocking the formation of new blood vessels (blocking angiogenesis). The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the short-term safety and effectiveness of Avastin injected into the eyeball in cases with intraocular tumors following-up the subjective and objective postoperative results.

[Triamcinolone acetonide bevacizumab performance in treatment and idiopathic macular spider veins].

This article evaluated the efficacy of intravitrean injection of anti VEGF agents and triamcinolon in the treatment of macular telangiectasis. The patients were followed six months. We practiced fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography.

[Atrophy of retinal pigment epithelium after macular hole surgery].

We present three cases of macular hole. After macular surgery we observed good anatomical results (closed macular holes) but poor functional results. We try to identified the element who produced atrophy of retinal pigment epithelium.

[Macular involvement in glaucoma].

Purpose: To assess the macular structural changes in primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) patients.

Methods: A prospective clinical study, 6 months, two groups of patients--group A--case control--healthy subjects, and group B--POAG patients, divided in B1--early glaucoma and B2--advanced glaucoma. The groups were homogeneous about age and sex distribution.

[Coats disease].

Coats disease is an idiopathic disorder characterized by an abnormal development of retinal vessels (telangiectasia), with a progressive deposition of intraretinal or subretinal exudates, leading to exudative retinal detachment. Classically is isolated, unilateral and affects mainly boys between 4 to 8 years. The diagnostic methods include direct and indirect opthalmoscopy, fluorescein angiography, ultrasonography, CT scan, MR imaging, especially în the advanced stages of disease, when is difficult to differentiate from retinoblastoma.
