Cancer is the leading cause of death in companion animals. The evaluation of locoregional lymph nodes, known as lymph node mapping, is a critical process in assessing the stage of various solid tumors, such as mast cell tumors (MCTs), anal gland anal sac adenocarcinoma, melanoma, and mammary gland adenocarcinoma. MCTs are among the most prevalent skin malignancies in dogs.

Rapid cardiac ischemia detection with an epicardial graphene probe.

Introduction: In this study, a new probe was designed to enable electrocardiography of a rotated heart during cardiac surgery when skin electrodes became non-functional. This probe adhered non-invasively to the epicardium and collected the ECG signal independently from the position of the heart. The study compared the accuracy of cardiac ischemia detection between classic skin and epicardial electrodes in an animal model.

Surgical treatment of post-traumatic luxation of rib heads with spinal cord compression in a cat.

Background: Luxation of the rib head with intrusion into the intervertebral foramen seems to be rare in cats. Only one report has been published describing a cat with non-ambulatory paraparesis, which was managed conservatively. Here we report a case of rib head luxation that was managed surgically.

Femoral Stem Fracture and Successful Reimplantation Using Femoral Window Technique in Canine Cemented Total Hip Replacement: Case Report.

A fractured stem is a very rare, late complication in total hip replacement procedure in dogs. Here, we present one case after cemented total hip replacement with successful reimplantation, including clinical signs and radiographic findings.

Pregnancy in a unilaterally ovariohysterectomised queen.

A 4-year-old female Russian Blue cat presented with signs of right-sided abdominal distension, anorexia and a mucoid vaginal discharge. On the basis of clinical and ultrasonographical findings a tentative diagnosis of uterine torsion was made. Exploratory coeliotomy revealed a 900º right uterine torsion along the longitudinal axis.
