Introduction: Metastatic breast cancer (MBC) presents an enduring and significant challenge for affected women, requiring sustained commitment over the years.

Case Presentation: This paper presents a case of a woman affected by bone and visceral MBC with a very long 20-year survival, excellent quality of life, and high resilience. She is now 51 years old and underwent quadrantectomy for breast cancer in 2005, and in 2013, she developed a recurrence with bone and liver metastases.

Competition and stereotypic behavior in Thoroughbred horses: The value of saliva as a diagnostic marker of stress.

Many horses exhibit stereotypies, especially when living in human controlled environments that may prevent horses from satisfying natural needs in terms of feeding, drinking, moving, and socializing. Introduction: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) is an adverse drug reaction that affects the mandible and maxilla of patients exposed to BMA and AA therapies, causing the progressive destruction and death of bone. To date, oral health preventive measures remain the most effective strategy to reduce MRONJ incidence, and, in this sense, the major goal is to diagnose, treat, and eradicate any oral diseases that could compromise oral health. Horse welfare is the product of multiple factors, including behavioral and physiological adjustments to cope with stressful situation regarding environment and housing condition. Collectively, it is supposed that a horse kept in the wild has a lower level of stress than other housing system, and the aim of the present study was to investigate the level of stress in domestic horses reared in the wild and then moved to human controlled housing, through saliva analysis. Improving the cancer adult patient support network (iCAN): a pilot study on a communication model and modified focus group.

Background: Many consider that cancer has the greatest impact of any disease in the world, and it can drastically limit patients' quality of life. Combating such a life-threatening disease can pose many challenges to daily life, highlighted by demonstrating the need to discuss one's health status within a focus group and encourage treatment compliance.

Diagnostic delay of oral squamous cell carcinoma and the fear of diagnosis: A scoping review.

The mortality rate of patients affected with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has been stable in recent decades due to several factors, especially diagnostic delay, which is often associated with a late stage diagnosis and poor prognosis. The aims of this paper were to: analyze diagnostic delay in OSCC and to discuss the various psychological factors of patients with OSCC, with particular attention to the patient's fear of receiving news regarding their health; and the professional dynamics related to the decision-making processes in cases of suspected OSCC. A preliminary review of literature focusing on OSCC diagnostic delay was performed.

Apelin, a member of the adipokine family, is a novel endogenous peptide which regulates the male reproductive system of mammals by interacting with a specific receptor. Recent studies have highlighted that apelin may play a role in the regulation of reproduction by reducing testosterone production and inhibiting LH secretion. To the best of our knowledge, there is no available data on the presence of the apelin and its receptor in canine testes.
