An autochthonous case of epididymal histoplasmosis masquerading as tuberculosis in a 55-year-old male patient is reported from India. It was diagnosed by culture of Histoplasma capsulatum from semen and by demonstration of the fungus upon re-examination of epididymal biopsy sections previously misinterpreted as tuberculous granuloma. The patient's main complaints were painful epididymal swelling, occasional fever and cough.

Healthy and protein deprived rhesus monkeys were inoculated with a virulent strain of Plasmodium knowlesi, to determine the morphological changes in the brain and to establish whether this model could be utilised as an experimental model for cerebral malaria. The histomorphological changes produced in the brain did not correspond with the changes conforming to those of cerebral malaria. The changes observed in healthy controls were cerebral oedema, high percentage of parasitised RBCs in the cerebral capillaries, with prominent and, at places, disrupted endothelium.

A 12-year-old male child had spontaneous, recurrent bouts of profuse bleeding from the nose for 15 days. On examination of the nose a purplish polypoidal mass, which bled at touch filled the entire right nasal cavity. On lateral rhinotomy, a soft, greyish, cheesy mass was found, choking the maxillary, frontal, ethmoidal sinuses and the nasal cavity on the right side.

A case of endometrioma of the right kidney with extensive involvement is presented. The patient complained of vague pain in the right lumbar region with no specific symptom relating to the kidney. An excretory urogram revealed a hydronephrotic kidney and diagnosis was a renal hydatid cyst.
