Unlabelled: Infectious gastroenteritis is an important cause of morbidity and mortality, especially in nations with middle and low incomes. In a pediatric gastroenteritis patient, the aim was to determine the therapeutic impact of using the Gastrointestinal Panel in our clinical practice. A single-center retrospective study was designed to evaluate children who were admitted to the hospital for gastroenteritis and had a gastrointestinal panel between August 2021 and January 2024.

Correlation of preoperative fibrinogen/albumin ratio with morbidity following advanced-age hip fractures: an observational study.

Purpose: Given the occurrence of comorbidities in geriatric patients, the postoperative period of hip fractures may progress with high morbidity and mortality. Recently, several inflammatory markers have been used to evaluate the treatment course. Herein, we prospectively followed-up and examined the relationship between preoperative fibrinogen/albumin ratio(FAR) and morbidity/mortality in elderly patients with hip fracture.

Background: The aim of this study was to examine cases of malpractice litigation in primary sarcoma and metastatic bone disease in orthopedic oncology, to identify the areas in which orthopedic surgeons may be guilty of negligence, and to make them aware of this.

Methods: A comprehensive examination was conducted on all closed medical malpractice cases involving bone and soft tissue malignant tumors from 2014 to 2024. Patient demographics, histopathological diagnosis, and malpractice claims made in a variety of specialties were recorded.

This study investigated the effect of two types of subcutaneous heparin injections on pain, ecchymosis, and hematoma as well as drug absorption rates.

The Effect of Test Anxiety on Nutritional Habits, Anthropometric Measurements, and Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Adolescents.

Since exam periods are used as a benchmark to determine academic achievement, they may result in increased anxiety, changes in dietary behavior, weight fluctuations and increased gastrointestinal symptoms in students. For this reason, this research was conducted to evaluate the effect of test anxiety on nutritional status and gastrointestinal symptoms in adolescents. This study was conducted with 104 senior high school students who agreed to participate in the study in a private and public school in Ankara 7 months before the exam and 1 month before the exam to evaluate the effect of exam anxiety on nutritional status and gastrointestinal symptoms of students preparing for the university exam.

Translation and Psychometric Evaluation of the Profile of Fatigue and Discomfort-Sicca Symptoms Inventory (Short Form) for Patients with Primary Sjögren's Syndrome: Validity and Reliability Analysis of the Turkish Version.

Background: The study aimed to translate the Profile of Fatigue and Discomfort-Sicca Symptoms Inventory Short Form questionnaire into the Turkish language (PROFAD-SSI-SF-T) and to investigate its psychometric properties.

Methods: The study was completed by 104 patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), and 83 patients filled out the scale a second time after 7 days for the retest measurement. The PROFAD-SSISF-T, Functional Assessment Chronic Illness Therapy (Fatigue) (FACIT-F), EULAR Sjögren's Syndrome Patient Reported Index (ESSPRI), European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions (EQ-5D), and Patient Global Assessment (PaGA) were applied to 104 patients with pSS for convergent validity.

Subchondral curettage cement packing in the distal radius causes wrist joint degeneration: long-term evaluation of distal radius giant-cell bone tumour.

Introduction: This study investigated wrist joint degeneration after curettage and PMMA treatment for giant cell bone tumours (GCBT) at the distal radius.

Methods: We performed a retrospective single-centre study, which included 23 patients with GCBT at distal radius treated with curettage and PMMA between 2001 and 2021. The progression of wrist joint degeneration was assessed through radiographic evidence, comparing the postoperative grade with both the preoperative grade and the grade of the contralateral wrist at the latest follow-up.

Predictive prognostic factors in patients with proximal humeral fracture treated with reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the predictive determitants in patients with PHF who were treated with reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) by evaluating the patient characteristics and comorbidities and extensive preoperative laboratory parameters.

Management of Scaphoid Pseudoarthrosis Surgery with Wide-Awake Local Anesthesia No Tourniquet (WALANT) Versus Axillary Block Anesthesia: Comparison of Patient Satisfaction.

We aimed to compare clinical and functional results of treatment of scaphoid pseudoarthrosis between patients undergoing wide-awake local anesthesia no tourniquet (WALANT) versus axillary block anesthesia. The patients diagnosed with scaphoid non-union who underwent pseudoarthoris surgery were divided into WALANT group (  =  12) and axial block group (  =  11). Visual analog scores (VAS) were measured by calling the patients via phone on postoperative days 1, 2, 3, and 7.

This study investigates the plasma G72 protein levels in drug-naive schizophrenia patients (DNS), those in acute psychotic episodes (AES), and healthy controls (HC). Preparation of pyridoxine-based polyurethane modified sensors and their use in simultaneous determination of Cu(II) - Co(II) ions.

In this study, pyridoxine-based polyurethane-modified electrodes were prepared to simultaneously and sensitively measure copper (Cu(II)) and cobalt (Co(II)) ions in complex matrix samples. For the production of the electrodes, firstly, the synthesis of pyridoxine-based polyurethane structures was carried out. In these syntheses, the polymer structure was diversified by using different isocyanates.

Which factor is more associated with survival of patients with hip fracture over 90 years: Type of fracture or treatment modality?

Objective: We aimed to analyze prognostic factors affecting the mortality and to evaluate whether the fracture type (collum femoris or intertrochanteric fracture) or treatment method (proximal femoral nail or hemiarthroplasty) affects the mortality in patients with hip fractures and older than 90 years old.

Methods: In our study, we retrospectively reviewed the patients aged >90 years and operatively treated hip fractures. Patients were categorized according to fracture type and treatment method.
