Background: Degeneration of the spine may affect pelvic parameters and hip mobility. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of degenerative scoliosis and spinopelvic parameters on hip hemiarthroplasty dislocations.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who underwent hemiarthroplasty for intracapsular hip fracture over a twenty-year period.
Gremlin-1 is associated with lung disease and plays a role in the initiation and progression of pulmonary fibrosis. This suggests that Gremlin-1 may be associated with lung involvement in COVID-19 and poor clinical outcomes and warrants further investigation. This prospective, cross-sectional, single-blind study was the first to investigate Gremlin-1 levels in COVID-19 patients and whether Gremlin-1 levels could be used to predict and guide clinical follow-up in outpatients and inpatients.

This study was conducted to evaluate whether smart cell phones detach people from social life, make them lonely, cause depressive symptoms and whether there is a relationship between them. This is a cross-sectional study using face-to-face survey method. The sample was determined as 376 participants, with 95% confidence interval, 50% probability depending on the probability of having a smartphone or not.

Various case studies have been assessed using a reference FPP, encompassing the instant and future retrofitting scenarios. The ready-to-use scenarios involve alternative fuel and organic Rankine cycle-based waste heat recovery system usage.

The aim of this study is to investigate the potential of C-reactive protein (CRP)/albumin (CAR) ratio as a tool for assessing the severity of Behçet's disease.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective crosssectional study was conducted by examining hospital archives.
Third-hand smoke (THS) is tobacco smoke impurities that adhere to indoor materials such as clothing, dust, and surfaces and are released into the air. It is a major public health concern that, if unaddressed, could cause future harm. The aim of this study was to assess medical students' knowledge of THS and to increase awareness.

Materials And Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted at a tertiary center and included pregnant women who underwent a 75-gram oral glucose tolerance test between 24-28 weeks of gestation. Elastography measurements were performed using point shear wave elastography (pSWE).
Background: Proximal femur resection and prosthetic reconstruction are preferred in patients with extensive bone destruction, pathological fractures, tumours resistant to radiation therapy, and patients with more proximal metastatic lesions. There is increasing evidence that the CRP/albumin ratio (CAR) is an independent marker of inflammation in various primary organ cancers and maybe a more accurate prognostic factor. We aimed to evaluate whether preoperative and postoperative CAR values could be a factor in predicting mortality in these patients.

Material And Methods: To accomplish this, blood samples were taken from horses on four different teams who participated in two separate games, both before and after game. These samples were used to measure levels of cortisol, ACTH, beta-endorphin, adrenaline, noradrenaline, triiodothyronine (T3), and thyroxine (T4) via species-specific commercial ELISA kits.
This study analysed the genetic diversity and population structure of eight sheep breeds in Turkey and nearby countries. Moderate genetic diversity was observed, with the Sakiz (SKZ) exhibiting the highest diversity based on heterozygosity and allelic richness (AR) values. Genetic distances revealed differentiation between the populations, with the most significant divergence between the Cyprus Fat Tail (CFT) and SKZ breeds.

Methods: A total of 703 patients who underwent kidney transplantation were included in the study. The total sample was subdivided into three groups: (i) patients with PTDM; (ii) patients who had diabetes before the transplantation (DM); and (iii) patients without diabetes (NoDM).

Background: This study explores the intricate connections between choroidal vascular index (CVI) and non-invasive ultrasonographic atherosclerosis predictors, shedding light on the potential links between ocular vascular dynamics and systemic cardiovascular health.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis of 81 participants, assessing CVI, intima-media thickness (IMT), extra-media thickness (EMT), and the PATIMA index. The presence of coronary artery disease (CAD) was also evaluated.
The conservation and sustainable utilization of cattle genetic resources necessitate a comprehensive understanding of their genetic diversity and population structure. This study provides an analysis of five native Turkish cattle breeds: Anatolian Black (ANB), Turkish Grey (TUR), Anatolian Southern Yellow (ASY), East Anatolian Red (EAR), and South Anatolian Red (SAN) using 50 K SNP data. These breeds were compared with three European breeds, Simmental (SIM), Holstein (HOL), and Jersey (JER), and three Asian Zebu breeds: Arabic Zebu (ZAR), Nelore (NEL), and Red Sindhi (RSI).

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed by archive scan between 2016 and 2020, and between January 2021 and January 2022.
Objectives: Bee venom is used for medicinal purposes, including the treatment of neurological and liver diseases, but its use as a primary health care approach for preventive purposes requires further exploration. The aim of this study was to provide the first investigation into the possible protective effects of bee venom against hepatic encephalopathy, a serious neurodegenerative disease.
Materials And Methods: An experimental animal study was conducted in which healthy albino Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into three groups: healthy, control and bee venom groups.
Objective: The choroidal vascularity index (CVI) is a method that measures the density of blood vessels in the choroidal layer and can be used to evaluate the effects of hypertension. In this study we aimed to investigate the relationship between epicardial fat thickness (EFT) and CVI in patients with hypertension.
Methods: This prospective study included 112 patients diagnosed with hypertension and 120 healthy individuals.
Background: Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) is an autoimmune disorder affecting the thyroid gland and may present as goiter or atrophic thyroiditis that may result in various metabolic and inflammatory disorders. The aim of this study is to determine the changes in serum levels of interleukin-17 (IL-17), IL-23, neopterin, and nesfatin-1 parameters in HT patients and to evaluate the possible relationship among these parameters.
Methods: 90 HT patients and 30 healthy individuals were included in this study.
Objective: Acne vulgaris, an inflammatory disease, was investigated in this study with the claim that the C-reactive protein (CRP)/albumin ratio and some hematological parameter ratios have the potential to be used as inflammatory markers to monitor disease severity and prognosis.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with two groups of patients aged 18-65 years, 61 patients diagnosed with acne vulgaris and 35 healthy control patients, and routine hemogram and biochemical parameters were compared. The Global Acne Severity Index was used to determine the severity of acne vulgaris.
Background: We evaluated patients who were followed after acutely developing single-sided footdrop and improving with conservative management or spontaneously.
Methods: In 2019 and 2020, ten patients were retrospectively evaluated for unilateral weakness of the lower extremity in the form of absent dorsiflexion at the ankle joint and were given a diagnosis of footdrop without etiologic cause. Patients were followed for 18 months.
We present simultaneous 1D imaging and broadband spectroscopy of a laser-produced plasma (LPP) source of extreme ultraviolet light, using a tapered zone plate that is matched to the dispersion of a transmission grating. We describe the design and fabrication of the zone plates in the 5-80 nm wavelength regime with designed spatial resolution of ∼10 µm and spectral resolution of ∼0.8 nm.

The usage of electric scooters has been popular because it is a cheap and fast transportation method. Its use has increased in recent years because public transportation is less preferred during the covid-19 pandemic and in parallel, the publications reporting e-scooter accidents are increasing. There is no article examining the relationship between e-scooter and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in current literature.
