Background: Although measuring vertebral bone density with the use of the computed tomography-based Hounsfield units (HU) is becoming increasingly popular, a much-desired standardized and robust method for measuring HU values accurately, quickly and conveniently was yet to exist.
Methods: Lumbar CT images of patients with degenerative lumbar diseases were analyzed. The HU values of the vertebral bodies were measured in three planes: mid-axial (including or not including the posterior venous plexus (PVP)), mid-sagittal and mid-frontal; the HU values of the vertebral pedicles were measured in two planes: axial and sagittal.

Object: To evaluate inter- and intra-observer agreement of the proposed diagnostic and treatment classification of degenerative spondylolisthesis.
Material And Methods: The proposed diagnostic and treatment classification of degenerative spondylolisthesis was validated according to the GRRAS protocol. For this purpose, we retrospectively analyzed MRI, CT and spinal radiography data in 20 patients.

Study Design: Longitudinal study of cervical MR in patients with degenerative disc disease (DDD).
Objective: To evaluate the evolution of the degenerative changes in the C2-D1 cervical segments and to assess the association magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters with clinical symptoms after surgical treatment in patients with DDD.
Summary Of Background Data: The evolution of degenerative changes in the cervical spine is poorly understood.
Background: Previous studies have demonstrated bone-anchored annular closure to significantly reduce reherniation and reoperation rates after lumbar discectomy in patients with large annular defects. It is important to identify the prognostic factors that may be associated with successful treatment. This study aimed to identify predictors of treatment success in patients with lumbar disc herniation treated with limited microdiscectomy supplemented by a bone-anchored annular closure device (ACD).

Prediction of the patient population with increased risk of rLDH is important because patients may benefit from preventive measures or other surgical options.
Purpose: The study assessed preoperative factors associated with rLDH after microdiscectomy and created a mathematical model for estimation of chances for rLDH.
Introduction: Annuloplasty is the modern pathogenetically substantiated surgical technique for managing lumbar disc herniation that improves the outcomes of limited microdiscectomy. Nevertheless, the rare complications require using a special strategy for managing and customizing treatment and reoperation.
Presentation Of Case: We present a clinical case of a patient with transpedicular and interbody fixation reoperation after annuloplasty with Barricaid closure device.
