The measurement of the luminosity recorded by the CMS detector installed at LHC interaction point 5, using proton-proton collisions at in 2015 and 2016, is reported. The absolute luminosity scale is measured for individual bunch crossings using beam-separation scans (the van der Meer method), with a relative precision of 1.3 and 1.

A search is presented for a heavy vector resonance decaying into a boson and the standard model Higgs boson, where the boson is identified through its leptonic decays to electrons, muons, or neutrinos, and the Higgs boson is identified through its hadronic decays. The search is performed in a Lorentz-boosted regime and is based on data collected from 2016 to 2018 at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 . Upper limits are derived on the production of a narrow heavy resonance , and a mass below 3.

The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 collected with the CMS detector. Events are selected by requiring two or three electrons or muons, moderate missing transverse momentum, and two jets with a large rapidity separation and a large dijet mass.

This paper presents new sets of parameters ("tunes") for the underlying-event model of the event generator. These parameters control the description of multiple-parton interactions (MPI) and colour reconnection in , and are obtained from a fit to minimum-bias data collected by the CMS experiment at , 7, and . The tunes are based on the NNPDF 3.

Collinear (small-angle) and large-angle, as well as soft and hard radiations are investigated in three-jet and + two-jet events collected in proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The normalized production cross sections are measured as a function of the ratio of transverse momenta of two jets and their angular separation. The measurements in the three-jet and + two-jet events are based on data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 8 , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.

Results of the Model Unspecific Search in CMS (MUSiC), using proton-proton collision data recorded at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 , are presented. The MUSiC analysis searches for anomalies that could be signatures of physics beyond the standard model.

Production cross sections of the Higgs boson are measured in the ( ) decay channel. A data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 , collected by the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 is used. The signal strength modifier , defined as the ratio of the Higgs boson production rate in the channel to the standard model (SM) expectation, is measured to be at a fixed value of .

The analyzed data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 137 . The analysis is aimed at events that contain , , or decays and each of the top quark(s) decays either to lepton+jets or all-jet channels.

We investigated the impact of the RS result on adjuvant treatment decisions in such patients.
Patients And Methods: This prospective, multi-center study enrolled patients with ER+, HER2-negative BC and 1 to 3 positive nodes (microscopic [N1mi] or macroscopic [N1]).
The first measurement of the dependence of γγ→μ^{+}μ^{-} production on the multiplicity of neutrons emitted very close to the beam direction in ultraperipheral heavy ion collisions is reported. Data for lead-lead interactions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, with an integrated luminosity of approximately 1.

The measured Z boson elliptic azimuthal anisotropy coefficient is compatible with zero, showing that Z bosons do not experience significant final-state interactions in the medium produced in the collision.

In addition, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends including this information as part of modified risk tobacco product applications. Regulators, including FDA, and many public health officials and researchers consider abuse liability assessment a model which predicts the likelihood that the use of the tobacco product would result in addiction and be used repeatedly or even sporadically resulting in undesirable effects.

A number of different solutions and agitation techniques have been proposed for that purpose. It was the aim of the present study to investigate whether root canal cleanliness can be improved by using a hydroxyapatite nanoparticle-containing solution with and without sonic or ultrasonic agitation.

Background: Race disparities in cardiovascular disease (CVD) related morbidity and mortality are evident among men. While previous studies show health in young adulthood and racial residential segregation (RRS) are important factors for CVD risk, these factors have not been widely studied in male populations. We sought to examine race differences in ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) among young men (ages 24-34) and whether RRS influenced this association.

As countries around the world increase their typical retirement age, the potential effect on population health and health inequalities requires scrutiny.
Methods: We carried out a systematic review of literature published since 2011 from developed countries on the health effects of employment in those over 64 years of age.

Purpose Of Review: The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of healthcare standards and their relevance to multiple ophthalmic workflows, with a specific emphasis on describing gaps in standards development needed for improved integration of artificial intelligence technologies into ophthalmic practice.
Recent Findings: Healthcare standards are an essential component of data exchange and critical for clinical practice, research, and public health surveillance activities. Standards enable interoperability between clinical information systems, healthcare information exchange between institutions, and clinical decision support in a complex health information technology ecosystem.

Background: Sciatica is often a painful and disabling condition, with medication routinely the first line of management. It is important to describe patients experiences of taking medication for sciatica, the reasons for commencing and reasons for cessation, the effects of the medication in symptom management and any other potential positive or deleterious effects.
Objectives: To describe patient experiences of medication for the relief of symptoms of sciatica.
Background: Although decoding the molecular mechanisms underlying insecticide resistance has often proven difficult, recent progress has revealed that specific mutations in the ryanodine receptor (RyR) of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella, can confer resistance to diamide insecticides. The extent to which specific RyR mutations contribute to the diamide resistance phenotype, the associated genetic traits and fitness costs remain limited.
Results: Three field-evolved PxRyR mutations (G4946E, I4790 M, and I4790 K) were respectively introgressed into a common susceptible background strain (IPP-S) of P.
Background: Despite cumulative socioeconomic disadvantage and risk factors, Black Americans have a lower prevalence of depression than whites. Given the emerging focus of depression as a public mental health crisis, culturally informed depression measures and scale development techniques are needed to better alleviate the mental health burden of socially marginalized populations. Yet, for Black men, race- and gender-related factors that position emotional vulnerability as a sign of weakness, may potentially mask the timely identification of mental health needs in this population.
