Purpose: Few studies have examined disparities in-and social determinants of-contraception use among rural adolescents despite evidence of higher teen birth rates and greater STI risk in rural communities. Guided by a social determinants of health (SDoH) framework, this cross-sectional study aimed to address these gaps.
Methods: Data come from the 2018 Healthy Youth Survey, including N = 3757 sexually active, rural-based adolescents.
RNA aptamers selected to bind fluorophores and activate their fluorescence offer a simple and modular way to visualize native RNAs in cells. Split aptamers which are inactive until the halves are brought within close proximity can become useful for visualizing the dynamic actions of RNA assemblies and their interactions in real time with low background noise and eliminated necessity for covalently attached dyes. Here, we design and test several sets of F30 Broccoli aptamer splits, that we call fluorets, to compare their relative fluorescence and physicochemical stabilities.

In the germline, stem and progenitor cells exit the proliferative phase and enter meiotic differentiation to form gametes essential for fertility. The RNA binding protein GLD-1 is a cell fate regulator that promotes meiosis and germ cell differentiation during development by binding to and repressing translation of target messenger RNAs.

In Germany inpatient rehabilitation plays a major role for the treatment of children and adolescents with chronic health conditions. The German Pension Insurance carries out the rehabilitation of children and adolescents with high commitment. Paediatric rehabilitation enables children to go to kindergarten and school without interruption and participate in later professional life.

In general psychiatry, however, it is little known. Therefore, we set out to gather data about the role of LE in general psychiatry, typical users and common clinical problems associated with the use of LE.

The German pension insurance has in recent years developed a comprehensive programme for quality assurance in rehabilitation, and has implemented the programme into routine practice. Different aspects of rehabilitation are evaluated with differentiated instruments. Issues dealt with inter alia include the quality of rehabilitative care in a narrower sense, the structure and organisation of the rehabilitation centres, as well as quality from the patients' perspective.

Inverse gas chromatography (IGC) is a versatile tool for the characterization of porous solids. IGC at finite dilution has historically been used for isotherm measurements because of fast equilibration times. A combination of IGC with a flash thermodesorption method allows the separation of micropores and outer surface contributions due to different adsorption mechanisms.

Animal waste causes environmental problems like eutrophication of ground and surface water or the pollution of the atmosphere because of its high NH4+ content. The aim of our study was to fix the nitrogen of swine waste as biomass. Therefore, an isolated alga, Chlorella sp.

The authors report a girl with high-grade intraosseous osteosarcoma of the left femur who lost one eye during early infancy for an unknown reason. Nine months after treatment, osteosarcoma in the stomach was detected and completely excised when the girl underwent endoscopy for Helicobacter pylori infection. Three years later osteosarcoma in the pulmonary interlobular space was noticed and completely removed.

Using IR spectroscopic data of Cr(CO)6 adsorbed on different surface centers on gamma-Al2O3, we were able to calculate isotherms for adsorption on these centers. Linear relations were observed between spectroscopic data (position, extinction coefficient, and half-width values) of corresponding bands of Cr(CO)6, adsorbed on different Lewis acid centers and the free enthalpy of adsorption. Thus it is possible to determine DeltaG degreesad values for different centers from one adsorption measurement and thus to characterize the Lewis acid strength of the centers.

Infrared spectra of Cr(CO)6 adsorbed at different surface centers on gamma-alumina were investigated. The spectra of the probe complex revealed the existence of three types of strong Lewis centers and that of physisorbed Cr(CO)6. In the case of the physisorbed complex Oh symmetry was widely conserved, and addition to strong Lewis centers led to lowering of the symmetry.

The second phase is characterized by a lymphoproliferative syndrome with histiocytic infiltrations in various tissues. Recently the gene has been identified on chromosome 1q43.

Event-free survival (EFS) rates at 6 years after BMT were 0.49 +/- 0.

A surface chemical reaction model to calculate concentrations of aluminum ions, metal ions, and pH as variables depending on amount of alumina, volume of liquid and gas phase, initial metal concentration, and amount of acid or base added is presented. In the case of Co(II) the pH dependence of rest concentrations with and without alumina is equal; adsorption may be disregarded.

Treatment with bone-marrow transplants from HLA-identical siblings results in a statistically greater likelihood of leukaemia-free survival than does chemotherapy. Less than 25% of relapsed patients are able to benefit from this therapy due to a lack of matching donors; chemoradiotherapy or autologous BMT are considered for the rest.

These lymphocytes give rise to an increase in specifically reacting cytotoxic T cells, which leads to self-limitation of the lympho-proliferative process. We describe the case of a 1-year-old boy who developed life-threatening EBV infection in association with liver failure, depletion of bone marrow, and severe encephalitis.

Eighteen patients subsequently relapsed, corresponding to a Kaplan-Meier estimate of disease-free survival (DFS) of 18%. Compared with a historical group of autologous bone marrow recipients who have not received immunotherapy, there is no significant difference according to DFS.

Chromosome analysis of bone marrow leukemic blasts revealed apart from the trisomy 21 a partial trisomy of the long arm of chromosome 1:1q23-->1qter in all cells and trisomy 8 mosaicism. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time that a partial trisomy of chromosome 1 in association with erythroleukemia has been described.
