Assessment of inflammation is a promising approach to monitoring the progression of asymptomatic atherosclerosis. The aim of the present study was to investigate the predictive value of innate and adaptive immunity-related markers, in relation to the short-term progression of subclinical atherosclerosis. The study included 183 patients aged 40-64 years who underwent duplex scanning of the carotid and lower limb arteries at two visits with an interval of 12-24 months between examinations.

This study aimed to research the diagnostic value of aging neutrophils in their relation to subclinical atherosclerosis in statin-naïve patients without established atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD).
Methods: The study was carried out on 151 statin-naïve patients aged 40-64 years old without ASCVD.
Background: Neutrophils expressing vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) represent a distinct subtype of neutrophils with proangiogenic properties. The purpose of this study was to identify the interrelations between circulating CD16CD11bCD62LCXCR2VEGFR2-neutrophils and indicators of carotid plaque burden in patients without atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD).
Methods: The study included 145 patients, 51.
Background: There is strong evidence to suggest that the negative influence of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TRLs) on atherosclerosis development and progression is at least partially mediated by their proinflammatory effects. However, the effect of hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) on the subpopulation composition of circulating neutrophils has not been studied so far. The aim of this study was to examine correlations between the level of triglycerides (TGs) and the subpopulation composition of circulating neutrophils in middle-aged patients with dyslipidemia without established atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVDs).

Mini-laparoscopy-assisted liver biopsies facilitate both histological and macroscopical evaluation of liver fibrosis. This study is aimed at investigating the prognostic significance of the laparoscopic assessment for the cumulative incidence of ACLD-related events.

Aim: Study the levels of cytokines in cervical mucus of women with transitory and persistent course of papillomavirus infection (PVI).
Materials And Methods: Material from 122 women was studied: 32 patients in control group, 68 patients with transitory course of PVI and 52 women with persistent course of PVI. The presence or absence of high risk HPV DNA was confirmed by real time PCR.
This work shows the Codivac efficiency in its aerosol form to treat children sick of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections. Course of therapy with the Codivac drug leads to improve clinical picture and rapid elimination virus from human organism as compared with children undergone traditional therapy. Recovery is accompanied with improving of indices of cell immunity.

Challenge of ADT-M toxoid to adults resulted in production of antitoxic as well as antibacterial antibodies in high concentrations. In response to challenge of ADT-M toxoid simultaneously with bacterial vaccine against diphtheria Codivac both antibacterial and antitoxic antibodies were synthesized in blood on optimal physiologic levels.

In order to clarify their contributions, bone marrow-derived DC loaded with Mycobacterium tuberculosis sonicate antigens were used to stimulate T cell proliferation both in vitro and in vivo and to vaccinate C57BL/6 mice against subsequent challenge with virulent mycobacteria. Antigen-pulsed DC developed in fetal calf serum (FCS-DC), but not DC developed in normal mouse serum (NMS-DC), stimulated significant proliferation of both naïve and immune T cells in vitro.

In order to acquire the effector function, allorestricted memory cells need antigen restimulation for 2 days, which is a specific feature of central memory cell population. These cells can suppress proliferation of naive splenocytes in vitro.

They favor formation of human microcenotic communities as a normal biological and physiological phenomenon. Codivak, a preparation of natural antigens of a symbiotic strain of non-toxigenic diphtherial corynebacteria, is able to correct not only disturbances of oropharyngeal immunity, but also general cell-mediated and humoral immunity disorders.

In human sera, studied with the use of the enzyme immunoassay, antidiphtheria postvaccinal antitoxic IgG and naturally acquired antibacterial IgG, IgM and IgA were detected. In the blood of children and adults aged up to 50 years antitoxic IgG were present at normal and high concentrations. In 50% of children antibacterial IgA were absent, while specific antibacterial IgM could be found at high concentrations.

A new method for the determination of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) admixtures in protein solutions has been developed. The method includes the periodate oxidation of LPS, biotinylation with biotin hydraside, immobilization on a nitrocellulose membrane and the development of biotinylated LPS in the streptavidin--alkaline phosphatase system. Proteins are previously removed from the solution by treatment with hot phenol.

The procedure is based on dot-blot hybridization using biotin-labeled bacteriophage M13 and plasmid probes containing cloned PstI and EcoRI-PstI restriction fragments of viral genome. The probes obtained were used to detect viral nucleic acids in specimens of bovine spermatic fluid or nasal swabs of calves.

UV spectroscopy and NMR spectroscopy have shown that the modified cytidine-5'-triphosphate is identical to N4-(4-aminobutoxy)-2'-deoxycytidine-5'-triphosphate. When the modified deoxycytidine-5'-triphosphate was inserted into DNA in vitro by DNA polymerase I of E.

Immunostimulators were found to decrease the activity level, while immunosuppressors increased the activity. The preparations having no immunomodulatory effect do not change the activity of this enzyme.

It has been established that the character of SK influence on activity level of 5'-nucleotidase in MPE and resistance depends on dose, type of administration and the mice breed. Revealed by hypodermic injection, dependence between the activity of 5'-nucleotidase in MPE and sensitivity to staphylococcus infection, whose character was determined by animals' genotype, had straight character in C57Bl/6 mice, and reverse character in CBA mice.
