Aim: Research studies with porcine acellular bladder matrix (PABM) showed integration of only small sized stamps in recipient bladders, however for clinical use in bladder augmentation significantly larger patches are needed. We hypothesised pre-vascularisation with omentum may be a step towards clinical translation.
Method: Eight domestic pigs were operated three times 8-10 weeks apart: 1-Implantation; PABM with recorded dimensions were sutured around a tissue expanding device, wrapped in omentum and sutured to the anterior abdominal wall.
The rotational spectrum of diphenylsilane was investigated using chirped-pulse Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy in the frequency range of 2-8 GHz. The lowest energy structure of diphenylsilane has C point group symmetry with the C symmetry axis coinciding with the -inertial axis of the molecule. Through the assignment of the main isotopologue as well as singly substituted heavy-atom isotopologues, including C, Si, and Si, we were able to obtain a comprehensive gas-phase structure of diphenylsilane.

Methods: Psychosocial (PS) factors were collected from self-assessed questionnaires and biomarkers representing inflammation (high-sensitivity [hs]-C-reactive protein [CRP], interleukin-6 [IL-6], lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 [Lp-PLA2]) and cardiac injury/stress (hs-troponin T [hs-TnT], N-terminal pro-B type natriuretic peptide [NT-proBNP]) were measured in 12,492 patients with chronic coronary syndrome in the STABILITY trial. Associations between level of each psychosocial factor (never-rarely (reference), sometimes, often-always) and biomarkers were evaluated using linear models with adjusted geometric mean ratios (GMR).
The recent astronomical observations of the simplest aromatic nitrile benzonitrile, -CHCN, followed by a five-membered and a bicyclic CN-functionalized ring in TMC-1 have provided a significant impetus to the field for searches of cyclic complex organic molecules in space. One such example is 2,4,6-cycloheptatriene-1-carbonitrile, a seven-membered ring with a -CN group attached to the sp-hybridized carbon atom. With a permanent electric dipole moment of 4.

Methods: In this register-based study, we included the parents of 18,871 children, born 1987-2020 and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in Sweden at <18 years.
Aims: The European Unified Registries On Heart Care Evaluation and Randomized Trials (EuroHeart) aims to improve the quality of care and clinical outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease. The collaboration of acute coronary syndrome/percutaneous coronary intervention (ACS/PCI) registries is operational in seven vanguard European Society of Cardiology member countries.
Methods And Results: Adults admitted to hospitals with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) are included, and individual patient-level data collected and aligned according to the internationally agreed EuroHeart data standards for ACS/PCI.
Renal cell carcinomas are known for their unforeseeable metastatic pattern. They are known to have high metastatic potential, thus commonly associated with synchronous or metachronous metastatic presentation. At the time of diagnosis, approximately one-third of patients present with metastatic disease.

Therefore, the aim was to investigate the occurrence of major bleeding among patients with AF treated with amiodarone in combination with apixaban or warfarin.
Methods: Retrospective observational study using Swedish health registers.
Epilepsy is a prevalent neurological disorder characterized by neuronal hypersynchronous discharge in the brain, leading to central nervous system (CNS) dysfunction. Despite the availability of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs), resistance to AEDs is the greatest challenge in treating epilepsy. The role of sphingosine-1-phosphate-receptor 1 (S1PR1) in drug-resistant epilepsy is unexplored.

Methods: All patients in Sweden undergoing valvular intervention with AF were included. Associations between OAC exposure and cardiovascular (CV) events (composite of CV death, ischaemic stroke or systemic embolism) and major bleeding were investigated using Cox regression analysis.

December 2024
Aims: To develop a suite of quality indicators (QIs) for the evaluation of the care and outcomes for adults undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
Methods And Results: We followed the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) methodology for the development of QIs. Key domains were identified by constructing a conceptual framework for the delivery of TAVI care.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common progressive neurodegenerative disease and is associated with dementia. Presently, various chemical and environmental agents are used to induce models of Alzheimer disease to investigate the efficacy of different therapeutic drugs. We screened literature from databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google scholar, emphasizing the diverse targeting mechanisms of neuro degeneration explored in models.

The interplay between hydrogen bonding and dipole-π interactions results in subtle dynamics that are challenging to describe from first principles. Here, we employ far-IR action vibrational spectroscopy with the infrared free-electron laser FELIX to investigate naphthalene with one to three water molecules.

We investigated cardiovascular and bleeding risk in patients with atrial fibrillation with varying BMI.
Methods And Results: Observational cohort study from the Swedish oral anticoagulation registry between August 2, 2011, and December 31, 2018.
Background And Hypothesis: Schizophrenia and comorbid substance use disorders (SUDs) are associated with poor treatment outcomes but differences between the associations of different SUDs with clinical outcomes are poorly characterized. This study examines the associations of comorbid SUDs with clinical outcomes in schizophrenia using a largescale electronic health record (EHR) database.
Design: Real-world data (RWD) analysis using the NeuroBlu database; de-identified EHR data were analysed.
Context.—: Chronic histiocytic intervillositis (CHI) is a rare condition characterized by maternal immune cell infiltration into the human placenta. CHI is strongly associated with fetal growth restriction, miscarriage, and stillbirth, and knowledge of its etiology, and consequently effective treatment, is limited.
