Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a metal artifact reduction (MAR) algorithm on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of titanium and zirconia implants, both within and outside the field of view (FOV).

Materials And Methods: In this study, a dry human mandible was positioned in a CBCT scanner with only its left quadrant included in the FOV. The current study aimed at comparing the correlation coefficients between wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) and a number of parameters, including the discomfort index (DI), modified discomfort index (MDI), predicted mean vote (PMV), predicted percentage of dissatisfaction (PPD), predicted heat strain (PHS), physiological strain index (PSI) and physiological strain index heart rate (PSI). Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Cognitive Evolutionary Therapy (CET) in an intensive short residential treatment of a wide range of severe personality disorders (PDs) that resulted in a reduction of social functioning and significant personal distress.

Design: Each patient was assessed at admission, discharge, and 3 months later in order to determine if there was a reduction in symptoms and an improved adherence to former outpatient programs and to check if patients were undergoing new treatment after discharge.

In order to investigate the alterations of erythrocyte protective antioxidant mechanisms, lipid peroxidation and trace elements associated with anemia in bovine tropical theileriosis, an infected group comprised of 50 crossbred Holstein cattle, about 1-2 years old, naturally infected with Theileria annulata, were divided into 4 subgroups according to their parasitemia rates (<1%, 1-3%, 3-5%, >5%) and also 10 healthy cattle as control were selected. Blood samples were taken and hematological parameters, the activities of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and catalase and serum concentrations of some antioxidant trace elements (copper, iron, zinc, manganese and selenium) were measured. As an index of lipid peroxidation, the level of Malondialdehyde (MDA) was also determined.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of grain orientation in polycrystalline materials on cell-substrate interactions. Samples are prepared from rods and sheets of Ti-6Al-4V substrates with predominately two distinct crystallographic orientations. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that 36% of the surfaces of rod samples consist of (1010) plane, while the predominant orientation in the surface of the sheet samples is (1120) plane (29%).
