Rehabilitation of a post-exenterated orbital defect is a necessity, to restore a patient's esthetic appearance and help overcome the associated psychosocial stigma. An implant supported prosthesis enjoys a better patient acceptance due to its superior retention and stability. This clinical report highlights the challenges faced in planning, designing and placement of maxillofacial implants in the supra-orbital rim of an exenterated socket post-radiotherapy along with the management of the unexpected complications which developed subsequently.

Methods: A randomised controlled trial was conducted on 68 eyes (34 eyes in SDM laser group and 34 eyes in observation group) with acute CSC, with a single angiographic leak and duration of complaints less than two months. Detailed history, examination and investigations were performed at the baseline and at regular intervals until six months.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe macular changes in treatment-naïve eyes with Eales disease using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was done on 79 eyes of 66 patients with Eales disease. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), slit-lamp biomicroscopy (SLB), indirect ophthalmoscopy, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), and quantitative (central macular thickness [CMT]) and qualitative analysis on SD-OCT were performed.

Retinal neovascularization in Diabetes mellitus (DM) is commonly seen at the optic disc and mid-periphery. It is rare at the fovea as the fovea is an avascular zone and there are very few case reports of foveal neovascularization in Type 1 DM. We report a case of unilateral foveal neovascularization in Type 2 DM.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA "congenital retinal macrovessel" (CRM) is an aberrant retinal vessel (frequently a vein) that traverses the central macula and supplies or drains both above and below the horizontal raphe. It is an uncommon entity that is usually disclosed on routine examination and may rarely cause a compromised visual acuity. We describe the case of an adolescent girl who underwent vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage and was found to have a CRM with vascular abnormalities.

Evaluation and comparison of CT of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) and fellow eyes were also performed.
Materials And Methods: This was a prospective, cross-sectional, and observational study.
Purpose: To describe an unusual retinal manifestation of dengue fever in an endemic region.
Case Report: A 35 year old male presenting with acute onset decreased vision in his right eye, was found to have a massive retinal pigment epithelial detachment (PED) extending up to the vascular arcades. He had been diagnosed with acute hypokalemic quadriparesis in dengue fever in the preceding week, which had resolved following treatment.
Background And Objective: To evaluate retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness after conventional brilliant blue (BB) assisted macular hole (MH) surgery versus BB selective staining using whole blood (WB) in MH surgery.
Patients And Methods: Sixty eyes with stage 4 idiopathic MH with a clear media were randomly divided into two equal groups. Group A eyes underwent sequential intraoperative use of autologous heparinized WB followed by BB dye for staining internal limiting membrane, whereas eyes in group B were subjected to conventional BB staining.
Purpose: To evaluate pattern electroretinogram (pattern ERG) and anatomical changes in optical coherence tomography (OCT) in acute retinal vein occlusion with macular oedema after intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (IVTA) injection.
Methods: In this prospective interventional study, 20 patients with acute retinal vein occlusion (branch and central) of less than 1 month duration were evaluated for pattern ERG, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness on OCT, and contrast sensitivity (CS) before and 1, 6 and 12 weeks after 1 mg IVTA injection.
Results: The amplitude of P50 wave (pattern ERG) improved from 3.

Purpose: To demonstrate and compare the performance of the 25-gauge transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy system via anterior (transcorneal) and posterior (pars plana) routes in congenital cataracts in infants.
Methods: In this prospective interventional study, 12 pediatric patients younger than 1 year with bilateral congenital cataract were included to undergo cataract surgery with posterior vitreorhexis and limited anterior vitrectomy using a 25-gauge vitrectomy system. One eye of each patient was operated on by the anterior (transcorneal) route and the other by the posterior (pars plana) route.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) is an autosomal dominantly inherited disease characterized by café-au-lait spots, neurofibromas, axillary freckling, Lisch nodules of iris, gliomas and various systemic vascular ischemic manifestations mainly in the aorta, brain and kidney. Retinal vascular manifestations in patients with NF-1 are usually representative of retinal capillary hemangiomatosis. Few cases of NF-1 with retinal vascular occlusive disease have been described.

Background And Objective: To evaluate the effect of a single dose of intravitreal diclofenac on macular edema (ME) due to branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO).
Patients And Methods: In this prospective, interventional case series, 15 eyes with BRVO and ME with central macular thickness (CMT) greater than 250 µm on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) were enrolled. All patients were given 0.
Purpose: To compare the structural and functional outcome of use of autologous heparinized whole blood before staining internal limiting membrane with brilliant blue (BB) versus conventional BB-assisted macular hole surgery.
Methods: Sixty eyes of 60 patients were randomly divided equally in Group A (BB staining using whole blood) and Group B (conventional BB staining). Clinical assessment and spectral domain optical coherence tomography was done at baseline and 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 16 weeks, and 6 months postoperatively.
X-linked retinoschisis (XLR) is an uncommon bilateral vitreoretinal dystrophy characterized by typical foveoschisis in all patients that may be associated with peripheral retinoschisis. A young male with XLR with retinal detachment in his right eye underwent 23 gauge pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade. Postoperatively, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) improved to 20/120 with an attached retina.

Congenital retinal macrovessel (CRM) refers to an aberrant vessel, usually a vein, which traverses the macula and supplies both sides of the horizontal raphe. It is a rare condition, mostly asymptomatic and discovered on routine examination. We describe a case of both arterial and venous CRM with a macroaneurysm along the arterial CRM that presented with decreased vision due to prominent lipid exudation at the macula.

Purpose: To report a case of exudative retinal detachment as the presenting feature of tuberous sclerosis complex.
Methods: A 14-year-old girl presented with loss of vision in the right eye for 1 month. Visual acuity was no perception of light in the right eye and 20/20 in the left eye.

Purpose: To compare the optical performance of aspheric intraocular lenses (IOLs) designed to correct the corneal spherical aberration versus spherical IOLs in pediatric eyes after cataract surgery.
Methods: In this prospective study, 40 eyes of patients 6 to 16 years old with developmental cataract were randomly assigned to receive a spherical IOL or an aspheric IOL after pediatric cataract surgery. At 3 months postoperatively, the outcomes compared between the two groups were best-corrected visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and wavefront aberrometry.
The incidence of endophthalmitis after pars plana vitrectomy is low. Silicone oil is a tamponading agent which has anti-microbial activity. Post-operative endophthalmitis following vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade has been rarely reported.
