Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination offers an excellent prospect for the primary prevention of cervical cancer. The bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines are both available in India. The nonavalent vaccine is licensed but not yet available.

Mononuclear molybdoenzymes of the dimethyl sulfoxide reductase (DMSOR) family catalyze a number of reactions essential to the carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, arsenic, and selenium biogeochemical cycles. These enzymes are also ancient, with many lineages likely predating the divergence of the last universal common ancestor into the Bacteria and Archaea domains. We have constructed rooted phylogenies for over 1,550 representatives of the DMSOR family using maximum likelihood methods to investigate the evolution of the arsenic biogeochemical cycle.

Alcohol-Associated Immunoglobulin A Vasculitis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Immunoglobulin A (IgA)-mediated leukocytoclastic vasculitis is a cutaneous small-vessel vasculitis characterized by skin findings of palpable purpura. It may occur secondary to infections, neoplasms, drugs, and systemic conditions, although it is most commonly idiopathic. A known, but rare, trigger for IgA vasculitis is alcohol consumption.

Molecular conservation and differential mutation on ORF3a gene in Indian SARS-CoV2 genomes.

A global emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic demands various studies related to genes and genomes of the SARS-CoV2. Among other important proteins, the role of accessory proteins are of immense importance in replication, regulation of infections of the coronavirus in the hosts. The largest accessory protein in the SARS-CoV2 genome is ORF3a which modulates the host response to the virus infection and consequently it plays an important role in pathogenesis.

Correlation Between p16/Ki-67 Expression and the Grade of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasias.

Interpretation of histopathology of cervical premalignant lesions suffers from marked interobserver variability due to its subjective nature. We aimed to evaluate the usefulness of the biomarkers p16 and Ki-67 in improving the diagnostic accuracy of cervical histopathology and assess the correlation between p16 expression and human papillomavirus test in different grades of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Cervical tissue specimens with a diagnosis of CIN 1 or worse (CIN 1+) on hematoxylin and eosin staining were selected for immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining for p16 and Ki-67.

Injectable Biomaterials for Dental Tissue Regeneration.

Injectable biomaterials scaffolds play a pivotal role for dental tissue regeneration, as such materials are highly applicable in the dental field, particularly when compared to pre-formed scaffolds. The defects in the maxilla-oral area are normally small, confined and sometimes hard to access. This narrative review describes different types of biomaterials for dental tissue regeneration, and also discusses the potential use of nanofibers for dental tissues.

Feasibility, Acceptability, and Efficacy of a Community Health Worker-Driven Approach to Screen Hard-to-Reach Periurban Women Using Self-Sampled HPV Detection Test in India.

Purpose: Detection of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) in self-collected vaginal samples can significantly improve participation of hard-to-reach women; however, the implementation of such an approach in a real-life setting, especially in countries with limited resources, has certain challenges. Our study aimed to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of implementing an HPV self-sampling-based approach to screen a socioeconomically disadvantaged, unscreened population with support from community health workers (CHWs) for community mobilization, counseling, and navigation. Different triaging options for HPV-positive women were also assessed.

Purpose: As an adjunct to mammography, ultrasound can improve the detection of breast cancer in women with dense breasts. We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of automated breast ultrasound system (ABUS) and handheld ultrasound (HHUS) in Chinese women with dense breasts, both in combination with mammography and separately.

Context/objective: Increases of thyroid cancer (TC) incidence emerged in the past several decades in several countries. This study aimed to estimate time trends of TC incidence in India and the proportion of TC cases potentially attributable to overdiagnosis by sex, age, and area.

Design: TC cases aged 0 to 74 years reported to Indian cancer registries during 2006 through 2014 were included.

Mononuclear molybdenum enzymes catalyze a variety of reactions that are essential in the cycling of nitrogen, carbon, arsenic, and sulfur. For decades, the structure and function of these crucial enzymes have been investigated to develop a fundamental knowledge for this vast family of enzymes and the chemistries they carry out. Therefore, obtaining abundant quantities of active enzyme is necessary for exploring this family's biochemical capability.

Results: Interactive sessions led to the identification of European learnings that can and should be shared beyond Europe. Furthermore, methods were characterised which may lead to successful knowledge transfer with subsequent quality improvement.

In Vitro and In Vivo Effects of Flavonoids on Peripheral Neuropathic Pain.

Neuropathic pain is a common symptom and is associated with an impaired quality of life. It is caused by the lesion or disease of the somatosensory system. Neuropathic pain syndromes can be subdivided into two categories: central and peripheral neuropathic pain.

Peak neutralizing and cross-neutralizing antibody levels to human papillomavirus types 6/16/18/31/33/45/52/58 induced by bivalent and quadrivalent HPV vaccines.

We performed an independent comparison of neutralizing and cross-neutralizing antibody (ab) levels seven months after initiation of three-dose, six-month vaccination schedules with the bivalent and quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in adolescent Finnish and Indian females, respectively. We used a semi-automated Pseudovirion-Based Neutralization Assay and observed significantly higher HPV16/18 peak ab-levels in bivalent as compared to quadrivalent vaccine recipients. Bivalent vaccine induced cross-neutralizing HPV31/33/45/52/58 antibodies significantly more frequently and to higher levels than the quadrivalent vaccine.

Key issues that need to be considered while revising the current annex of the European Council Recommendation (2003) on cancer screening.

The 2003 European Council recommendation urging the Member States to introduce or scale up breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening through an organized population-based approach has had a remarkable impact. We argue that the recommendation needs to be updated for at least two sets of reasons. First, some of the current clinical guidelines include new tests or protocols that were not available at the time of the Council document.

Comparative performance evaluation of different HPV tests and triaging strategies using self-samples and feasibility assessment of thermal ablation in 'colposcopy and treat' approach: A population-based study in rural China.

Methods: Medline, EMBASE, Global Health Database and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched for publications and conference abstracts (dated January 1999-August 2018) using MeSH and non-MeSH terms for human papillomavirus AND vaccines AND (immunogenicity OR efficacy/effectiveness) AND dosage. Search results were screened against pre-specified eligibility criteria.
