This is a case report of a previously healthy 26-year-old female with unexplained neurological symptoms that eventually developed malignant catatonia. Because malignant catatonia has a range of clinical manifestations, making prompt diagnosis a challenging task. Due to her relapsing symptoms, the patient was admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit three times in less than 2 months, and eventually recovered with high doses of lorazepam and several electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) treatments after a stay in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Background: Schizophrenia is one of the chronic mental illnesses, characterized by delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior, and cognitive decline. It frequently leads to a lifetime of impairment and disability that span the entire lifespan of the patients. Objective: To explore the knowledge and perceptions about pre-diabetes screening and management amongst physicians, final year medical students, and patients.

Methods: The cross-sectional observational study was conducted at Shifa International Hospital, Shifa Foundation Clinic and Shifa College of Medicine, Islamabad, Pakistan, from November 2017 to February 2018. A structured questionnaire was used to assess doctors' and final year medical students' knowledge about screening and management of pre-diabetes.
