Objectives: In many countries, the healthcare sector is dealing with important challenges such as increased demand for healthcare services, capacity problems in hospitals and rising healthcare costs. Therefore, one of the aims of the Dutch government is to move care from in-hospital to out-of-hospital care settings. An example of an innovation where care is moved from a more specialised setting to a less specialised setting is the performance of an antenatal cardiotocography (aCTG) in primary midwife-led care.

Methods: In this population-based retrospective cohort study, we included all category 1 LTOPs from 2004 to 2015 in the Netherlands. The number of LTOPs before and after the introduction of the program was compared as well as the diagnostic process and factors contributing to LTOP.
Aims: To compare the gestational age of neonates in utero exposed to benzodiazepines (BDZs) with nonexposed controls. Secondary objectives were birth weight, presence of congenital malformations, APGAR score and the need for >3 months (prolonged) maternal psychiatric care.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study of women and neonates from 2013 to 2021 with univariate and multivariable analysis to study the associations between BDZ exposure and gestational age compared to nonexposed women with mental health problems.
Aim: Diabetes is associated with a high risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. Optimal glycaemic control is fundamental and is traditionally monitored with self-measured glucose profiles and periodic HbA1c measurements. We investigated the effectiveness of additional use of retrospective continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in diabetic pregnancies.

Objective: To compare the accuracy of the Actim Partus test and fetal fibronectin (fFN) test in the prediction of spontaneous preterm delivery within seven days in symptomatic women undergoing cervical length measurement.
Study Design: We performed a post-hoc analysis on frozen samples of a nationwide cohort study in all 10 perinatal centres in the Netherlands. We selected samples from women with signs of preterm labour between 24 and 34 weeks of gestational age and a cervical length below 30mm.

Objective: We recently reported that induction of labour does not improve short term neonatal outcome in women with late preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) as compared to expectant management (PPROMEXIL trial). In this study the neurodevelopmental and behavioural outcome of the children from this trial at 2 years of age was studied.
Study Design: We studied outcome of offspring of women randomised in the PPROMEXIL study.

Objective: To assess the impact of cervical length (CL) measurement and fetal fibronectin testing (fFN) on the clinicians' decision to prescribe antenatal corticosteroids (ACS) to women with symptoms of preterm labor.
Study Design: This is a secondary analysis of a prospective cohort study including women with symptoms of preterm labor and intact membranes between 24 and 34 weeks' gestation. We compared the proportion prescribed and completed ACS courses, preterm delivery within seven days and median intervals from ACS to delivery in four groups: group 1 CL<10 mm, group 2 CL 10-30 mm and positive fFN, group 3 CL 10-30 mm and negative fFN, group 4 CL>30 mm.
Background: In women with a multiple pregnancy, spontaneous preterm delivery is the leading cause of perinatal morbidity and mortality. Interventions to reduce preterm birth in these women have not been successful. We assessed whether a cervical pessary could effectively prevent poor perinatal outcomes.

Objective: To determine whether maintenance tocolysis with nifedipine will reduce adverse perinatal outcomes due to premature birth.
Design, Setting, And Participants: APOSTEL-II (Assessment of Perinatal Outcome with Sustained Tocolysis in Early Labor) is a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial performed in 11 perinatal units including all tertiary centers in The Netherlands.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of intravenous administration of nicardipine as a second-line temporizing treatment in severe, early-onset, pre-eclamptic patients.
Design: An open, prospective, evaluation study.
Setting: A high-care obstetric ward in a tertiary care centre.
