Background: Preoperative and noninvasive detection of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) and telomerase reverse transcriptase gene promoter (TERTp) mutations in glioma is critical for prognosis and treatment planning. This study aims to develop deep learning classifiers to identify IDH and TERTp mutations using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS) and a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) architecture.
Methods: This study included H-MRS data from 225 adult patients with hemispheric diffuse glioma (117 IDH mutants and 108 IDH wild-type; 99 TERTp mutants and 100 TERTp wild-type).

Background: This study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of coil embolization of the superior rectal artery for both emergency and elective treatment of rectal bleeding caused by Goligher grade 4 hemorrhoids, where surgery is contraindicated.
Methods: Between 2019 and 2024, 18 patients (11 males, 7 females) with a mean age of 65±10.3 years were included in the study.
The enterobacterial common antigen (ECA) is conserved in Gram-negative bacteria of the order although its function is debated. ECA biogenesis depends on the Wzx/Wzy-dependent strategy whereby the newly synthesized lipid-linked repeat units, lipid III, are transferred across the inner membrane by the lipid III flippase WzxE. WzxE is part of the Wzx family and required in many glycan assembly systems, but an understanding of its molecular mechanism is hindered due to a lack of structural evidence.

Background: This study aimed to investigate whether there is a correlation between some serum inflammatory markers and the survival of patients with malignant pleural effusions (MPEs).
Methods: The prospective study included 125 patients (67 males, 58 females; median age: 62 years; range, 40 to 92 years) who underwent thoracentesis for pleural effusion between January 2020 and December 2021. An overall survival analysis was performed, and survival differences between the groups were investigated.

Objectives: To compare the usage of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) and orotracheal intubation (OTI), which are separate airway management methods in tracheal reconstruction surgeries, in terms of perioperative management, mortality, and morbidity.
Methods: Adult patients who underwent tracheal reconstruction surgery between June 2020 and June 2022 were included in the study, retrospectively. Patients with lost data or primary tracheal malignancy were excluded.
Background: While the effect of biomaterials covering the pulp tissue is considered in the success of pulpotomy treatment, the level of pulpal inflammation is still very important for treatment success. The aim of this study was to compare IL-6 and IL-8 levels, known as good indicators of pulpal inflammation, with a new biomarker, presepsin, and to evaluate the impact of biomarker levels along with the pulp capping agents used in the treatment on the one-year success of pulpotomy treatment.
Methods: The study included 120 primary second molar teeth with pulpotomy indications from 75 children.

Background: Myocardial fibrosis is often detected in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), which causes left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and tachyarrhythmias.
Purpose: To evaluate the potential value of a machine learning (ML) approach that uses radiomic features from late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and cine images for the prediction of ventricular tachyarrhythmia (VT) in patients with HCM.
Material And Methods: Hyperenhancing areas of LV myocardium on LGE images were manually segmented, and the segmentation was propagated to corresponding areas on cine images.
Objectives: French dentists charge additional fees for dental prostheses. This paper aims to provide new information on the determinants of dental price setting and inform public decision-making in the context of the widespread rejection of prosthetic dental care for financial reasons. We focus on the competitive mechanism in the dental prosthetics market and measure the impact of the density of professionals and competitors' prices on the fees charged by dentists.

Serum cortisol and blood glucose concentrations were measured following the administration of levobupivacaine (LBUP) 0.5% and dexmedetomidine (DEX) (0.

The risk of caries increases due to a failure to perform oral hygiene during races. Ultra-endurance runners had good oral health status despite these particularities.

Therefore, in the 'arms race' with the virus, there is a continuing need to identify new biologics for the prevention or treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infections. Here, we report the isolation of nanobodies that bind to the Omicron BA.

Between January 2015 and March 2024, B19V-positive donations decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by a strong rebound in 2023 and unusually high circulation during winter 2023/24 (ca 10 times higher December 2023-March 2024 vs the pre-pandemic period). Variations over time are probably related to measures implemented to limit SARS-CoV-2 spread.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of changes in sodium (Na) levels on hospital stay and survival in patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit receiving fosfomycin.
Subjects And Methods: This study was conducted retrospectively on the files of patients over the age of 60, who were admitted to the Internal Medicine Intensive Care Unit.
Rationale And Objectives: To differentiate early-onset schizophrenia (EOS) from early-onset bipolar disorder (EBD) using surface-based morphometry measurements and brain volumes using machine learning (ML) algorithms.
Method: High-resolution T-weighted images were obtained to measure cortical thickness (CT), gyrification, gyrification index (GI), sulcal depth (SD), fractal dimension (FD), and brain volumes. After the feature selection step, ML classifiers were applied for each feature set and the combination of them.
Despite advancements in vaccination, early treatments, and understanding of SARS-CoV-2, its impact remains significant worldwide. Many patients require intensive care due to severe COVID-19. Remdesivir, a key treatment option among viral RNA polymerase inhibitors, lacks comprehensive studies on factors associated with its effectiveness.

Precipitated/instrumental delivery and perinatal asphyxia were predefined risk factors. Acidosis can interfere with coagulation and disrupt the pressure of ocular capillaries and put infants with moderate acidosis with or without hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy at risk for OH.

The “100% Santé” (100% Health) reform was intended to address the major problem of social inequalities in access to dental care in France. We explain the reform as well as the numerous challenges that come with its application. The difficulties encountered in accessing dental care were associated with particularly high out-of-pocket expenses for users.

The objective of this study was to observe the evolution of dental care consumption, and in particular prosthetic care, over a period including the years before and after the reform. This exploratory study, based on descriptive data, provides the first elements of analysis useful for evaluating the oral health component of the “100% Santé” reform.

In this study, the presence of memory T cell responses after aluminum-adjuvanted inactivated whole-virion SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (CoronaVac) in seronegative and seropositive elderly individuals were examined. CD4 and CD8 memory T cell proliferation and IFN-γ production capacities were evaluated.

Methods: Eighty-seven community-dwelling older women participated in our study.
Background: Transcutaneous bilirubin (TCB) measurement is a simple, painless, and time-saving alternative for the assessment of TSB (total serum bilirubin) levels. However, TCB measurements obtained during phototherapy can yield inaccurate results. We evaluated the effectiveness of TCB measurements obtained from protected skin areas in patients who underwent phototherapy.
