Article Synopsis
  • The paper explores enhancing the nutrient content of hen eggs with copper, manganese, and zinc using new feed additives derived from alfalfa and goldenrod.
  • The study finds that feeding hens enriched goldenrod led to a significant increase in these microelements in both egg albumen and yolk compared to conventional feed.
  • Overall, while mechanical properties of the eggs remained stable and production metrics were consistent across groups, the eggs from hens given the new feed additives were favored for their superior taste.
