The rs1447295 and DG8S737 markers on chromosome 8q24 and cancer risk in the Polish population.

Several recent association studies implicate three neighbouring regions of chromosome 8q24 as the site of prostate cancer susceptibility loci. One region contains both a microsatellite marker DG8S737 and a single nucleotide polymorphism rs1447295. Both have been consistently associated with prostate cancer risk in several populations.
