The treatment of oral and maxillofacial infections is based on a recognized algorithm that may require modification under the influence of various local and systemic factors. The aim of this study was to present a comprehensive and microbiological profile of oral and maxillofacial infections, and explore possible correlations between the course of an infection and selected systemic factors based on the medical records of 329 patients affected by the disease. We identified most common clinical, demographic, bacterial, and laboratory parameters specific for these infections.

Aim: Accordingly, clinical and epidemiological analysis of head-and-neck lymphoma was performed to approximate diagnostic difficulties.
Materials And Methods: The diagnosed patients with head-and-neck lymphoma in our center were assessed in 2012-2019.
According to a new concept for the classification and division of autoimmune diseases, Mikulicz's disease and Küttner's tumor belong to immunoglobulin G4-related diseases (IgG4-RD) and fulfil their diagnostic criteria. The aim of this study was to summarize the new classification concepts of IgG4-RD in the head and neck area and to review their clinical, histopathological and serologic criteria and the methods used in the diagnostic workup with respect to their advantages, limitations and differentiative value. View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe authors present the case of a 41-year-old patient with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), who in the past had an aortic valve replacement surgery, currently takes anticoagulant drugs and has sustained an extensive trauma to the nose as a result of a dog bite. The HHT is diagnosed basing on the presence of at least three out of four symptoms or signs: spontaneous epistaxis, vascular lesions in the internal organs, skin telangiectasias and a family history of the disease. The presented patient showed hepatic angioma, history of recurrent bleeding from the tongue and spontaneous epistaxis as well as numerous skin telangiectasias.

Material And Methods: The diagnosis in 71 years female patient was based on CT, endoscopic examination and biopsy, and pathologic examination, with immunohistochemical differentiation between primary intestinal type adenocarcinoma of paranasal sinuses, and metastasis of adenocarcinoma from digestive tract.
On the base of retrospective analysis of 12,888 cases of carcinoma of larynx and hypopharynx, diagnosed in 19 ENT Departments in Poland from 1991 to 2001, the assessment of basic epidemiological data, including the localization of tumor and stage of local and clinical advancement of the disease at the time of diagnosis has been conducted. In analyzed period of 11 years the trends to change of the mentioned above parameters has been examined. The authors present a very rare case of concurrent longitudinal and transverse fracture of temporal bones. In this case, both the manifestations as well as the clinical image are quite typical of longitudinal and transverse fractures, the only difference being the lack of posttraumatic paralysis of the facial nerve, which is frequent in the case of transverse fractures. It must be noted that fractures of temporal bones generally occur as the result of road accidents or gunshots, since only a very substantial force may cause the fraction of the cranial basis.
