This include data from systemic monitoring-mean arterial pressure (MAP), arterial carbon dioxide tension (PaCO), arterial oxygen saturation (SaO), hemoglobin levels (Hb), and temperature-as well as neurological monitoring-intracranial pressure (ICP), cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP), and transcranial Doppler (TCD) velocities. Local debridement or decompression of the posterior heel in Haglund's syndrome yields variable results. This condition is sometimes due to an excessively long calcaneus rather than simply a large posterosuperior bony prominence. Failure to address this abnormality may explain the poor results in some series.
