Background: Contemporary cancer care primarily focuses on advanced biomedical treatments, often overlooking the psychological and social challenges associated with the illness (psychosocial factors). This oversight can undermine the efficacy of healthcare and subsequently impact the overall well-being of cancer patients. There is a widespread consensus among medical professionals that psychological factors play a crucial role in the care and treatment of cancer patients.

Background: Cardiac radioablation (CR) is an innovative treatment to ablate cardiac arrythmia sources by radiation therapy. CR target delineation is a challenging task requiring the exploitation of highly different imaging modalities, including cardiac electro-anatomical mapping (EAM).

Purpose: In this work, a data integration process is proposed to alleviate the tediousness of CR target delineation by generating a fused representation of the heart, including all the information of interest resulting from the analysis and registration of electro-anatomical data, PET scan and planning computed tomography (CT) scan.

Background: Recurrences of atrial fibrillation (AF) after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) are mainly due to pulmonary vein reconnection. However, a growing number of patients have AF recurrences despite durable PVI. The optimal ablative strategy for these patients is unknown.

Patients' appraisal of health care delivery system and services during COVID-19 could be an important yardstick for hospital administration and policy makers. The study attempted to develop and test the psychometric properties of a new patient satisfaction scale for COVID-19 patients. A total of 446 COVID-19-hospitalized COVID-19 patients in a tertiary care designated COVID-19 care hospital constituted the sample.

Background And Aims: COVID-19 is expected to have a significant impact on the socio-behavioural aspect of citizens' lives, although the effects are expected to manifest differently in different population groups. The current study was conducted to assess the socio-behavioural impact of COVID-19 among the general population across India between the first and the second wave of pandemic.

Methods: A web-based cross-sectional study was conducted from 15th March -25th March 2021 using a pre-validated validated questionnaire upon the general population using e-survey, telephonic and face-to-face interview.

Acute myocarditis is associated with cardiac arrhythmia in 25% of cases; a third of these arrhythmias are ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricular fibrillation (VF). The implantation of a cardiac defibrillator (ICD) following sustained ventricular arrhythmia remains controversial in these patients. We sought to assess the risk of major arrhythmic ventricular events (MAEs) over time in patients implanted with an ICD following sustained VT/VF in the acute phase of myocarditis compared to those implanted for VT/VF occurring on myocarditis sequelae.

Aims: Up to 30% of selected heart failure patients do not benefit clinically from cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). Left ventricular (LV) wall thickness (WT) analysed using computed tomography (CT) has rarely been evaluated in response to CRT and mitral regurgitation (MR) improvement. We examined the association of LVWT and the ability to reverse LV remodelling and MR improvement after CRT.

Background: Respiratory distress protocols (RDPs) are protocolized prescriptions comprised of 3 medications (a benzodiazepine, an opioid, and an anticholinergic) administered simultaneously as an emergency treatment for respiratory distress in palliative care patients in the province of Quebec, Canada. However, data on appropriate use that justifies the combination of all 3 components is scarce and based on individual pharmacodynamic properties along with expert consensus.

Objectives: Our study aimed to evaluate the conformity and the effectiveness of RDPs prescribed and administered to hospitalized adult patients.

An association grouping together the pain committees from several institutions carried out an assessment of professional practices in order to improve the screening and treatment of pain in elderly people unable to communicate. The study shows the benefit of a systematic assessment, with the aid of the Algoplus® scale, of all patients with communication disorders, and the need to improve the treatment of pain.

Context: Many studies have explored stress and quality of life in (QOL) patients with cancer, under several phases of disease and treatment. However, the impact of medical intervention on psychological parameters, such as stress and quality of life focusing on psychological intervention has been sparsely studied.

Aims: The main aim of the study was to examine the impact of medical intervention on the level of stress and quality of life of patients with lung, breast, and head and neck cancers.

Background: Focal dermal hypoplasia syndrome is mainly defined by the association of abnormalities of extremities, atrophy and linear hyperpigmentation of the skin, localized deposits of superficial fat, anomalies of the eyes and of the nails. Neonates are often small for their age.

Case Reports: Three sporadic cases are reported.

A 3-d-old neonate presented with fever, hepatosplenomegaly, coagulopathy, thrombopenia and anaemia. Secondary haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis was suspected, as persistent cytopenias were associated with hypofibrinogenaemia, haemophagocytosis in bone marrow and decreased NK cell. There was no positive family lymphohistiocytosis history or parental consanguinity.

Background: Neonatal sepsis due to Streptococcus pneumoniae is relatively rare. The increasing risk that this bacterium is resistant to betalactam antibiotics worsens its prognosis.

Case Report: A newborn was delivered by cesarean section because of an abnormal fetal heart rate pattern.

Toxoplasma gondii specific IgA and IgM antibodies were quantitated by an antibody capture agglutination assay in 260 patients with acquired toxoplasmosis and from 94 fetuses suspected of congenital toxoplasmosis and 30 infected children. In acquired toxoplasmosis, IgA antibodies to T gondii were found in 95% of the cases. In congenital toxoplasmosis IgA antibodies were more frequently detected (75%) in cord blood than IgM antibodies (61%).
