In a rehabilitation unit, time is organised and activities punctuate the patient's and health professionals' day. This time is interspersed with the time of perception, time for thinking and anxiety, slow time, sequenced by the acceptance of the disability.

Methods: This was a single-center randomized controlled trial. Preoperatively, the control group received our institution's standard of care for pain management education, whereas the experimental group watched an educational video on the use of opioids.
Chronic inflammation is now a well-known precursor for cancer development. Infectious prostatitis are the most common causes of prostate inflammation, but emerging evidence points the role of metabolic disorders as a potential source of cancer-related inflammation. Although the widely used treatment for prostate cancer based on androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) effectively decreases tumor size, it also causes profound alterations in immune tumor microenvironment within the prostate.

The purpose of this trial was to assess the impact of day-of-surgery video and phone calls on patient satisfaction.
Methods: We enrolled 251 patients undergoing outpatient orthopaedic surgery with 3 participating surgeons.
Background: Acquisition of multidrug resistant bacteria (MDR) and colistin resistance genes by international travellers has been demonstrated. Studies conducted in medical students during internships abroad are scant.
Methods: Nasopharyngeal, rectal, and vaginal swabs samples were collected from 382 French medical students before and after travel to investigate the acquisition of MDR bacteria.
Aquaculture is a fast growing industry with its development hampered by bacterial diseases. Vibriosis caused by Harveyi clade strains is known for causing heavy loss especially in shrimp aquaculture farms. For farm treatment and pathogen spread management, veterinarians and researchers need reliable bacterial identification tools.

Introduction: There has been controversy regarding whether headgear use in women's lacrosse will affect the rate of head and musculoskeletal injuries. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mandated headgear use on the rate of head and musculoskeletal injuries in high school women's lacrosse.
Methods: This was a prospective cohort study of eight high school women's lacrosse teams and their game op-ponents who were mandated to wear F3137 headgear for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
Fosfomycin is a decades-old antibiotic, currently reused because of its activity against multidrug-resistant bacteria. Here, we used a combined approach to search for fosfomycin resistance determinants in 25 new bacterial species isolated from the human microbiota. Putative resistance genes were cloned into a susceptible strain.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe described three clinical cases of pyogenic liver abscess caused by hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvKp) successfully treated by prolonged antibiotherapy, in which one case was complicated by endophthalmitis. Whole genome sequencing helped to confirm the diagnosis of these hvKp strains, which belong to clonal complexes CC86 and CC23 and carried hvKp-associated genes (magA and/or rmpA). This syndrome is increasingly reported in France and Europe and raises questions about the source of infection.

Here we summarise the characteristics of surveillance systems devoted to the surveillance of AR worldwide and published in the literature.
Methods: We performed a systematic review of the literature available on PubMed from January 2007 to July 2019 (12.
Background: Cancer and cardiovascular disease (CVD) are independently associated with adverse outcomes in patients with COVID-19. However, outcomes in patients with COVID-19 with both cancer and comorbid CVD are unknown.
Methods: This retrospective study included 2,476 patients who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 at 4 Massachusetts hospitals between March 11 and May 21, 2020.

Purpose: To evaluate clinical and biomechanical outcomes after knee extensor mechanism reconstruction (KEMR).
Methods: Patients who underwent KEMR at our institution from 2011 to 2018 were identified. Patient-reported outcomes (Kujala, Lysholm, Tegner Activity Scale) were compiled at clinical follow-up.
Objective: To assess MRI appearance of the dermal allograft and its correlation with clinical outcome following superior capsular reconstruction (SCR).
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study of patients who underwent SCR between 2015 and 2018. Patients with postoperative MRI and clinical follow-up were included.
The burden of antibiotic resistance is currently estimated by mathematical modeling, without real count of resistance to key antibiotics. Here we report the real rate of resistance to key antibiotics in bacteria isolated from humans during a 5 years period in a large area in southeast in France. We conducted a retrospective study on antibiotic susceptibility of 539,107 clinical strains isolated from hospital and private laboratories in south of France area from January 2014 to January 2019.

Since the mid-90s, numerous groups have identified LXRs as endocrine receptors that are involved in the regulation of various physiological functions. As a result, when their expression is genetically modified in mice, phenotypic analyses reveal endocrine disorders ranging from infertility to diabetes and obesity, nervous system pathologies such Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease, immunological disturbances, inflammatory response, and enhancement of tumour development.

We synthesize data from 12 focus groups ( = 97) originating from two separate community-engaged studies that originally centered on exploring barriers to health and hazards of work among immigrant Latinx women and men to explore the role of work in their overall health and well-being. The three major interrelated themes we drew from this research-hazards of work, value of work, and building agency to overcome risk-provide insights that can help to reframe and begin to operationalize how community-based health promotion practice might better incorporate workplace issues for Latinx low-wage workers.

Medicinal plants are a potential source of drug discovery and development of new pharmacological compounds for cancer chemoprevention. More than 80% of the West African population uses medicinal plants. It is estimated that over 60% of approved anti-cancer agents are derived from plants.

With recent reports showing clinical and laboratory overlap of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children and Kawasaki disease (KD), we addressed the hypothesis that cross coronavirus humoral immunity leads to a parallel postinfectious phenomenon explaining similar pathologic findings in KD and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. We demonstrated no cross-reactivity in children with KD but observed some nonspecific interactions postintravenous immunoglobulin infusion.

Guidelines to help manage such patients are rarely used in primary care. Electronic health record (EHR) systems with worker health clinical decision support (CDS) tools have potential for assisting these practices.
