Reimplantation after subtotal section of the right lower limb under the Scarpa triangle was been attempted and was successful. Section and contusion of the femoral artery and vein required 2 end-to-end saphenous bypass grafts. The use of the lower limb is correct, after to a follow up of 4 years.

The authors present a series of 200 patients who underwent vertebral arthrodesis with Harrington's distraction rods for idiopathic scoliosis reviewed after a mean follow-up of 7.5 years (maximum: 24 years). The surgical procedure consisted of either simple distraction or distraction associated with convex compression or a transverse traction device or insertion of double rods according to Armstrong's technique.

Reporting a clinical observation, the authors emphasize upon the extreme scarceness of this variety of so called "congenital" pseudarthrosis of the odontoid process. The congenital origin, due to a lack of fusion, or the acquired one by avascular necrosis following a trauma is explained. The diagnosis may be clinical, consisting either on a vertebral syndrome occurring in childhood, or on a neurological syndrome in the adult age.

While getting synovial sclerosis and articular drying, the synoviorthesis breaks the circulus vicious which comes from iterative hemarthrosis to articular destruction. With 25 cases and a follow up of 6 years, we have got 39% of good results, 35% of medium and 26% of bad ones. The therapeutic efficiency requires a certain latent time (0 to 15 days for isotopical synoviorthesis, 2 to 3 months for those ones with osmical acid.

This current report of our experience of Cotrel's method falls within the context of continuing the developments in our treatment of scoliosis. Our follow-up for Harrington's operation is 13 years, 281 patients having undergone surgery. On other words, having known the beginnings of this surgery, we are in a position to measure the progress represented by Berckoise's technique (7, 6, 8).
