The manipulation of training variables can be an important strategy for the continuity of health benefits; however, little is known about the effects of the progression of aerobic training variables in the adaptations of blood pressure in hypertensive adults.

Aims: To analyze the effects of aerobic training with and without progression on blood pressure in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: The databases used for the systematic search were PubMed, Cochrane Central, SPORTDiscus and LILACS. Studies which analyzed blood pressure before and after an intervention period of eight or more weeks of aerobic training compared to a control group without training in patients with type 2 diabetes were included.
Background: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) represents an effective therapeutic procedure, particularly in patients with severe aortic stenosis. We hypothesized that the decreased afterload induced by TAVI would improve exercise capacity by enhancing oxygen uptake in working muscles.
Methods: A standardized exercise test was performed in patients with severe aortic stenosis the day before TAVI and within 5 days thereafter.

Methods: A total of 401 patients were randomized in the goal-directed hemodynamic therapy or restrictive normovolemic therapy groups. A cardiac output monitor was used in all goal-directed hemodynamic therapy patients and was left at the discretion of anesthetists in charge of patients in the restrictive normovolemic therapy group.
It is well known that one of the most outstanding adverse effects related to lead (Pb) exposure is oxidative stress; moreover, recent findings suggest that disturbances of the redox status of cells are associated with epigenetic responses, and metabolism of glutathione (GSH) plays an important role in this process. This study aimed to assess Pb exposure on % methylation of GSH-related genes' promoter regions (%CH-CpG) and their influence on biomarkers of oxidative stress, in workers exposed to the metal. One hundred nine male workers participated in the study; ICP-MS determined blood lead levels (BLL); biochemical parameters related to redox status, named GSH, glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) were quantified by UV/Vis spectrophotometry.
