Parkinson's disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder, resulting dopaminergic neuronal cell death in the substantia nigra. The disease is characterized by major motor impairment, being bradykinesia, rest tremor, rigidity and loss of postural reflexes the most common, while autonomic dysfunctions, sleep disturbances and psychiatric disorders are some of the wide range of non-motor symptoms. Several processes have been identified to be associated with disease development, such as mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative/nitrosative stress and neuroinflammation.

This work aims to conduct a multiparametric assessment of the effect of deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the thalamic ventral intermediate nucleus (VIM) on essential vocal tremor (EVT) and investigate the relation between DBS lead location and EVT outcomes.
Methods: Nine participants underwent DBS for essential tremor and were diagnosed with co-occurring EVT in this prospective cohort study.
Cell death plays a fundamental role in mounting protective and pathogenic immunity. Etosis is a cell death mechanism defined by the release of extracellular traps (ETs), which can foster inflammation and exert microbicidal activity. While etosis is often associated with innate cells, recent studies showed that B cells and CD4+ T cells can release ETs.

Activated oxidative and nitrosative stress (O&NS), inflammatory pathways, and increased atherogenicity are shared pathways underpinning CVD and mood disorders.
Methods: The current study examined the effects of lipid hydroperoxides (LOOH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), nitric oxide metabolites (NOx), advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP), and malondialdehyde (MDA) on systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure in 96 mood disordered patients and 60 healthy controls.
The spread of SARS-CoV-2 and the distribution of cases worldwide followed no clear biogeographic, climatic, or cultural trend. Conversely, the internationally busiest cities in all countries tended to be the hardest hit, suggesting a basic, mathematically neutral pattern of the new coronavirus early dissemination. We tested whether the number of flight passengers per time and the number of international frontiers could explain the number of cases of COVID-19 worldwide by a stepwise regression.
