Objective: We aimed to compare lateral and midline epidural anaesthesia using a levobupivacaine-fentanyl combination in patients undergoing unilateral lower extremity operation for anaesthetic effects and postoperative complications.
Methods: The study included 40 American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) I-II group patients. At the L4-5 space, an epidural catheter was placed in patients in Group 1 by directing the tip of the needle at a 45-degree angle to the operation side and in Group 2 with the needle tip in the cephalad direction.
The purpose of this study is that to evaluate superiority and results of open technique in the treatment of femoral shaft fracture with interlocking intramedullary nailing. The retrospective study is designed to evaluate results of our technique. In this study, the patients that were admitted to the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department of University Hospital that is third level of trauma center.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to report our functional results after an intramedullary Kirschner wires (K-wires) and tension band wiring combination for the treatment of a large group of humeral head fractures was performed.
Patients And Methods: Seventy-four patients (54 females, 20 males; mean age 42 years; range 24 to 73 years) who had proximal humerus fractures were treated with an intramedullary K-wire and tension band technique and were retrospectively analyzed. Fracture patterns were according to Neer classification type II in 43 patients, type III in 23 patients and type IV in five patients.
Objectives: We evaluated the efficacy of viscosupplementation with low- or high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (HA) preparations following arthroscopic debridement (AD) in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.
Methods: The study included 45 patients (19 men, 26 women; mean age 53 years; range 41 to 66 years) with Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2-3 osteoarthritis of the knee. Following AD, the patients were randomized to three groups to receive three intra-articular injections of 2 ml hylan G-F 20 (Synvisc, n=16), five intra-articular injections of 2 ml sodium hyaluronate (Hyalgan, n=14), and no injections (controls, n=15).
Objective: To elucidate the effects of arthroscopy and intraarticular hyaluronan therapies on antioxidant enzyme activity and lipid peroxidation.
Methods: This study was conducted between January and May 2005, at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Suleyman Demirel University, Isparta, Turkey. A total of 60 patients with knee pain who were diagnosed as knee osteoarthritis according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria were included in this study and randomly and equally divided into 4 groups.
The results of a modified crescentic proximal metatarsal osteotomy and distal soft tissue procedures for patients with symptomatic, incongruent, metatarsophalangeal joint, hallux valgus deformity were reviewed. Forty-nine feet of 41 patients were evaluated. All of the patients were male military personnel of different ranks, and their mean age was 23 years (range, 20-43 years).

Surgical procedures to the distal humerus, elbow, and proximal forearm are ideally suited to regional anesthetic techniques. Selection of the preferred approach is determined by the innervation of the surgical site, the risks of regional anesthesia-related complications, and the preference and experience of the anesthesiologist. The axillary approach to the brachial plexus is the most commonly used because of its ease of performance, patient acceptance, safety, and reliability, particularly for hand and forearm surgery.
