Purpose: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a complex metabolic disorder that affects almost 24 million Americans. We have recently identified a novel IgY specific chicken FcR (ggFcR) on chromosome 20, a region where no FcR gene is present in mammals.
