Direct-Acting Antiviral Therapy in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C Shows Liver Fibrosis Regression on Three Noninvasive Tests: A Puerto Rican Cohort.

Objective: Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) drugs have resulted in high rates of virological cure in chronic hepatitis C (CHC)-infected patients. We used noninvasive tests to assess fibrosis in subjects who had been cured with DAA.

Methods: Retrospective data collection (2014-2019) from the medical record of CHC patients at the hepatology clinic was performed.

Glecaprevir/pibrentasvir for 8 weeks in treatment-naïve patients with chronic HCV genotypes 1-6 and compensated cirrhosis: The EXPEDITION-8 trial.

Background & Aims: Eight-week glecaprevir/pibrentasvir leads to high rates of sustained virological response at post-treatment week 12 (SVR12) across HCV genotypes (GT) 1-6 in treatment-naïve patients without cirrhosis. We evaluated glecaprevir/pibrentasvir once daily for 8 weeks in treatment-naïve patients with compensated cirrhosis.

Vitiligo, jaundice and cholestasis in a middle aged woman: a case report.

Primary biliary cirrhosis with autoimmune hepatitis (PCB/AIH) overlap is characterized by uncertain behavior and no standardized treatment. A 35 year-old-woman with vitiligo, jaundice and cholestasis fulfilled serological, biochemical and histological criteria for PBC/AIH overlap. Treatment was initiated with conventional doses of corticosteroid and ursodeoxycholic acid.
