Purpose: The aim of our work is to present clinical and histological data of the case of severe sympathetic ophthalmia (SO). Sympathetic ophthalmia is a rare, bilateral, non-necrotizing granulomatous panuveitis that follows penetrating injury to one eye. SO is a potentially blinding condition.

The paper presents the coexistence of a nevus flammeus and basal cell carcinoma affecting the left upper lid of 61-year-old farmer with Sturge-Weber syndrome. The occurrence of basal cell carcinoma in nevus flammeus is extremely rare. The etiology of the malignancy in this situation is unknown.

Unlabelled: The aim of this paper is to describe the prospective 10-year follow-up study of prognostic value of p53 protein accumulation in cancer cells in relation to the localisation of tumour in colorectum.

Methods: The p53 protein accumulation has been assessed immunohistochemically in tumour tissue samples obtained from 80 selected sporadic colorectal cancer patients.

Results: p53 protein accumulation was detected more often in rectum than in colon tumours.
