[Unplanned pregnancy-now what? : Effectiveness and acceptance of medical teaching units for primary and secondary prevention in schools].

Background: The German Medical Society for Health Promotion (ÄGGF) has developed a school-based teaching unit for students in grade 8 and higher that aims at primary and secondary prevention of unplanned pregnancies.

Aims: The accompanying evaluation study analyzes the effects of the teaching unit on the students' knowledge and their experience with self-efficacy concerning unplanned pregnancies.

Methods: A two-armed cluster-randomized controlled study was conducted using a ten-page anonymous questionnaire with a closed answer format before and after the intervention.
