Background: Drug treatment is imperative for pregnant women with pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) and pre-eclampsia. For more than 40 years, dihydralazine has been the drug of choice for this indication. Another particularly effective and better tolerable antihypertensive is urapidil.
