This cross-sectional study aims to investigate parents' awareness of malocclusion and orthodontic consultation of their children and the influence of parents' demographics on their awareness level. An electronic survey collected information about participants' demographics and awareness about malocclusion and orthodontic consultation of children.

Background: Epilepsy, a serious chronic neurological condition effecting up to 100 million people globally, has clear genetic underpinnings including common and rare variants. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of epilepsy is high and caused mainly by perinatal and genetic factors. No whole-exome sequencing (WES) studies have been performed to date in Saudi Arabian epilepsy cohorts.

Immediate post-transplant nephrosis in a patient with congenital nephrotic syndrome.

A 19-month-old girl with congenital nephrotic syndrome of the Finnish type underwent a living-related renal transplant; 24 h after transplantation she became massively nephrotic. She did not respond to steroids, plasmapheresis, and high-dose cyclosporine. A month later, a renal biopsy showed only glomerular foot process effacement.

Cerebellar mutism caused by arteriovenous malformation of the vermis.

Transient mutism following posterior fossa tumour resection in children is well known in the literature. To our Knowledge, this phenomenon has never been reported without surgical intervention. We report a case of cerebellar mutism secondary haemorrhage from a vermian arteriovenous malformation (AVM), which resolved to ataxic dysarthria after 6 weeks.

Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest for blunt retrohepatic venous injury: a case report.

A case of major blunt hepatic injury requiring liver resection is described. An associated retrohepatic vena cava injury could not be repaired despite the use of an atriocaval shunt. Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest was used as a last resort.
