Article Synopsis
  • Natural rubber from rubber trees is an important global industrial material, with research identifying seven gene family members that fall into three subfamilies due to variations in gene length and structure.
  • The rubber tree's genome shows expansion linked to segmental duplications, and these genes are highly expressed in areas like petioles and stem tips, helping the tree manage stress from factors like drought and salt.
  • Transgenic studies in poplar reveal that overexpressing certain genes boosts growth and suggests these genes play a role in plant height regulation and adaptation to the environment through membrane transport processes.

Objective: The present systematic review was performed to identify risk factors associated with life-threatening complications of head and neck space infections (LCHNSI) within the included studies and assess the magnitude of their impact on patients.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Web of Science, EmBase, Scopus and CNKI for articles that reported risk factors associated with life-threatening complications of head and neck space infections from inception to 14 December 2023. Only factors reported in at least three papers were considered in the meta-analysis.

Introduction: Low physical activity (LPA) is associated with several major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and premature mortality. In this study, we aimed to assess the global burden and trends in disease attributable to LPA (DALPA) from 1990 to 2019.

Methods: Annual age-standardized disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and death rates of DALPA [all-cause and five specific causes (ischaemic heart disease, diabetes mellitus, stroke, colon and rectal cancer, and breast cancer)] by sex, age, geographical region and social deprivation index (SDI) score from 1990 to 2019 were available from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study 2019.

Background: Glioma is one of the most malignant tumors worldwide. This study was aimed to study the effect of miR-379-5p/MGST1 on cell proliferation, migration, invasion and EMT in glioma.

Methods: RT-qPCR detected the expression of miR-379-5p and MGST1 in RNA level in glioma cell lines.

We aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of sevoflurane (SEV) preconditioning in liver ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. In vivo, rats were randomly divided into Sham group, I/R rat model group, I/R + SEV group and SEV group. In vitro, hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) cell model were established.

Propofol (PRO) protects against hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Bnip3 is involved in the I/R-induced injury. This study investigated whether the effect of PRO on hepatic hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) injury was realized through regulating Bnip3.

Neuroblastoma is a common malignancy and frequently affects children, leading to a low survival rate. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are reported to be closely related to cancer progression. The purpose of this study was to explore a novel mechanism of lncRNA nuclear-enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1) in neuroblastoma.
